  1. Thank you for the reply, that seems reasonably straightforward! I will measure an injector when I get home tonight to see if they are high impedance or not. Really appreciate the support!!
  2. I have had a look at other posts regarding this and whilst I cannot find anything pertaining to a V12, at the risk of proving myself to be a dumb-ass: The firing order is 1-7-5-11-3-9-6-12-2-8-4-10 As there are four injector outputs, would I be correct in assuming that the injectors can be grouped in threes (assuming they do not draw too much current when wired together) and would be wired thus: 1-7-5, 11-3-8, 6-12-2, 8-4-10? and if this is right, is there any particular order of injector outputs these should be wired to? Please bear in mind that at this stage I am only sorting basic installation. Thanks in advance for any help!!
  3. Thanks for the reply - The engine has 2 distributors and I think one crank sensor - and there is what I take to be an inductive sensor on one spark plug lead from each distributor.
  4. I have a Storm G4+ ECU to run a BMW M70 V12. As the Storm has 4 injector drives and the engine has 12 injectors how do I configure the injector wiring? Thanks in advance for any help!
  5. Thank you for that, it was just a thought, didn't appreciate the difference!
  6. Would it be possible to use an ABS sensor for the above or does it need to be a dedicated Hall effect sensor?
  7. Thanks for the reply, no this is not an E46, it does use E39 subframes but no ABS, I could get a signal from an ABS sensor but I understand that there would be too many pulses per revolution for the ECU?
  8. When you say 'teeth'... I want to fit a speed sensor, I am using a BMW E46 M3 gearbox. The output flange has 3 sectors, it would be easy to mount a hall effect sensor above this coupling to sense these sectors. However, each sector isn't a tooth but represents about 1/6th of a revolution so the sensor would be sensing equal periods of contact and no contact, three per revolution, would this work? I do hope this makes sense!! Thanks for any help
  9. Thank you Adamw and cj for your very informative and helpful reply. The dash is not original to the vehicle (it is a milk float...) but it seems that it can probably be made to work. When I get a bit further down the line I will let you know how I get on.
  10. Hi all I'm new here so please accept my apologies if I am doing something wrong or in the wrong place, I have tried the search method but cannot find anything..... I have a project underway, I have a Storm G4+ (still in the box at this stage!) which will run a BMW M70 V12. The physical engine installation is well under way so I am starting to consider wiring, instruments etc. If I provide a digital speed input to the ECU, will I be able to configure the ECU to drive a CANBUS dash from something like a VW Golf? (I am looking primarily for speedo and tacho function) And if so, whilst the dash donor car would have had 5 cylinders, as the CANBUS drives the tacho presumably it will read the digital engine speed data which would not have reference to number of cylinders? Or am I being naive and it is not that simple?
