    TPS in ECU Display screen

Hi Adam, Thanks for the reply, that was what I expected and was the only reason I questioned the software, as any I've wired in reverse by mistake before have just read high>low instead of low>high. Weirdly, although it did read in runtime values, I made a quick ghetto patch loom from the TPS connector to an external alternate TPS (some old VW Bosch unit) and it read perfectly fine and calibrated just fine in both the main screen and runtime values. Plug back into the original sensor, no calibration, runtime values only, but still tests somewhat ok on the bench, must just be on its way out but not completely dead yet? Very odd. I spoke to Anthony via Link Email (good dude, thank you!) and he said these odd things can happen and maybe the sensor is just packing in given that the alternate sensor worked. Thanks for everyone's replies, had me confused this one.

    TPS in ECU Display screen

Good call, I did double check as I have done exactly that with similar, but different, connectors in the past, but I don't believe so here... may be wrong however. It is reading and displaying in the Analog input section of the Runtime Values, a touch over 0v closed to around 4.7v at WOT, I have just checked now, so as expected in that section there. I did reverse the wires, despite the above, and it didn't make any difference to the actual display 'issue' and when swapping +5v and signal around it left it not doing anything.

    TPS in ECU Display screen

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. It is definitely 'right' for the factory diagram, however it strikes me now perhaps I need to change it for the Link application? As standard 1 is Sensor Ground, 2 is Signal and 3 is +5v. I will switch 2 and 3 a minute. I will check runtime values now.
  4. Hi, This one should be nice and easy for you folks... hopefully! To preface this: Verified channel assignment both in the software and physically at the ECU and TPS connectors. Checked continuity between the ECU connector and TPS connector, for correct Analogue In, +5v and GND. I do have a ground and a +5v reference voltage at the TPS connector when checking with a DMM, so all three seem to be correct end to end assignment wise and physically. At this point, I bench tested the TPS, and it works as expected. The IAT and ECT are reading as expected (ignition on, engine off) on the laptop's ECU Display screen, but the throttle position does not change and attempting to calibrate it yields no result either. This is a billy basic Hitachi 3-Wire cable throttle, so I'm a little stumped sorry. Is there some funny setting like it needs to be running to display this? (seems very unlikely, but I have to ask, as I've checked the sensor and wiring). Thanks for any advice as always guys. *edit, I do have a couple of fault codes from a pair of pressure sensors not being present and fitted yet.
  5. Hi, I've had a little search through old topics and previously posted files, but nothing I can quite get my head around sorry... yes, I may well be a moron so I apologize in advance As an example, I found one of Adam's examples given for a BMW however it used CAN 2. So I have a MonsoonX, PMU-16 and ADU display on CAN 1 (1mb/s). The PMU settings are pretty well taken care of, however I need it to receive a fuel pump turn on request as needed from the ECU (no physical aux out present). Does anyone have a CANX file for the G4X and a screenshot or just a written example of how I would do this? Thanks for your help folks! Edit: Attached current setup files for the big three, cheers! 1JZ TPS

Morning / afternoon folks, quick question from the UK. Firstly I know BHP are on here, so thank you for the engine plugs and Link CANF plug! On to a more pressing issue, I wired a friend's 1JZ a short while ago, no drama, like the Link kit, smart stuff, happy days. I am now wiring another for another mate of mine and unfortunately I'm having some confusion with the TPS. I wired it as I had previously, and it was reading backwards, no trouble, phoned the chap's chosen and very knowledgeable tuner, and he suggested - as makes sense - swapping the pins at the TPS plug around where the signal and 5v wires terminate. It reads the correct way now, but full throttle reading was 1000%. So did the quick TPS Setting dealy on the laptop and it zero'd nicely at closed throttle, couple of percent showing, but when it goes to WOT (by hand on the cable linkage, car not run yet) it goes to 100% briefly then goes to 1000% again until released. I'm hoping I'm missing something simple, or have simply wired it incorrectly, but as far as I'm aware the green sensor ground, red/blue 5v output and yellow/black signal wires are in their correct places at the TPS plug and are 100% correct at the ECU end. Any ideas greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.
