Even if i switch off the can im still seeing the temp gauge at max with a cold engine. paigecansetp.pclr

    Can fault

I'm trying to setup a can lambda but I'm unable to detect the lambda sensor in can devices. I have checked the runtime values with f12 and I have faults even without the can lambda connected to the ecu. ( I'm assuming this is my problem as to why it's not detecting it) what's really weird is that since trying to set this up I have noticed my temperature gauge goes to max ie overheating when the engine is cold. 2005 mini cooper s
  4. It was a pretty old firmware version. im still learning could you give me an idea of what i should have in the 0 degree coloum of the accel enrichment and ill work it out from there? Im still setting the ecu up and only have the one file im working on, it started and ran great i updated the firmware it then started behaving strange so i reinstalled the only saved map i had.
  5. so something strange happened this morning when i went to start the car up for the log it only just start and was running terrible. i had to alter the top left corner of the map to get the car to run correctly it was running mega lean even with the warmup enrichment. but after around 20 seconds of running i had to remove the extra fuel i added as it was running to rich. I dont have a before and after of my tune only where i am at the moment. startup.llgx NM06MXF.pclx
  6. Since I carried out a firmware update my mini doesn't like to rev when cold. In order to rev the car I have to feather the throttle to build up a little rpm before I can get high rpm. If I hold the throttle for more than a second or two the lambda reads mega lean and it cuts out. I have tried putting my saved map on buts its still the same. If the car is 95 degrees or above its seems to be fine.
  7. Thank you. I guess the sensor is effectively just a microphone so it's shouldn't really matter but thought I'd ask the question from someone in the know.

    Cold start

Hi adam thanks for your help I'll give that a try and report back.
  9. HI i have recently bought myself some Phormula knock detection which comes with its own knock sensor. My question is can i use the factory fitted knock sensor or is the knock detection calibrated to its own sensor. i dont have a problem using the sensor thats supplied with the kit but i am limited with fitting location and i would have to remove the factory fitted one to install it. The connector / wire thats on the knock detection is the same as my factory fitted one. Thanks

    Cold start

i checked the enrichment table's and your guess is really close to the base map settings. i tried making a change of +10 in the main fuel table but that didn't really make much of a difference. i was running 0.850 lambda on start up but that quickly changed as the warm up enrichment started to decrease. one thing i didn't notice but im unsure why is my lambda changed to around 0.930 until my coolant hit 50 degrees. The lambda then suddenly changed to 0.860 where its stayed for a little. Its like the warm up enrichment suddenly started again.

    Cold start

The car is an R53 mini, running tesco momentum fuel, its running 550cc injectors a big valve head and an aggressive camshaft. I have a link can lambda sensor wired in but have noticed from cold the car doesnt seem to run that rich ie doesnt look like warm up enrichment is adding much fuel and im close to my afr target.

    Cold start

thanks warchild. i tried this and logged the results, the car was in the garage last night so wasnt as cold as usual. It still didnt as well as it shoud. Coldstart.llg DAVE.pclr

    Cold start

During cold mornings (around 10 degrees) I'm having bother starting the car. I'm having to turn the car over on the starter motor for around 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. If I try and start the car for 10secs and then try again a few times it starts much easier. I have tried changing the crank enrichment around the 10 degrees mark but it makes no difference. Should I enable pre crank prime? It was off as default and wondered whether or not this will help. The car starts fine when hot but with the winter coming it's becoming increasingly difficult as the temps drop. Thanks
  14. That has worked a treat! thanks. My idle is pretty stable but is still a little slow at responding. im not sure whats happened to the tables as i wouldn't have put zero's across the whole table. Here is the log of my idle after the adjustments you have made. idlechangelog.llg
  15. hi Adam Thanks for the reply. I have been trying to different things to see if i can the idle better and got mixed up with the files. i have created a log with the closed loop idle control. altho i must add even with the open loop idle i still cant get a stable idle. Where should i start with my e-throttle target table numbers? idleclosedloo.llg
  16. HI im still in the early stages of mapping and setting up my car but im having trouble getting a steady idle. i do have a camshaft that has some overlap which im not sure if thats whats causing my problem. Is there anyone that could take a look at my map and explain where im going wrong. If i come to slow stop ie lift off the accelerator and slow down and dip the clutch just as the car hits 1k rpm it will idle for a little, but it slowly starts to hunt until the idle becomes unstable and cuts out. If i rev the car up the idle fails to correct it self and will cut out very quickly. Thanks Latest.pclr idle.llg
  17. Excellent thanks for that info. I'll try it without first then and see how my car performs I'm not gonna be anywhere near 750bhp (probably closer to 350bhp bhp on e85) so it sounds like I shouldn't have a problem.
  18. Pipe with out fittings please. I have seen a bypass fitting that doesn't restrict fuel flow, where the sensor clips in to. This would work really well with my setup but it will only accept a certain size sensor.
  19. Hi I'm just wondering if someone can tell me the length and diameter of the link ethanol content sensor pipe? I have a return less fuel system and need to buy a bypass mount to fit it my fuel system. Thanks
  20. Thanks a lot for your help id prefer a faster response but could be persuaded by cost. I'll check out the options and go from there.

    EGT sensor help

I have a link g4+ for my mini r53 2003 and I am looking to add an EGT sensor. Is this straight forward to wire in similar to the pressure sensors. Im pretty confident with wiring and setting up. Just need to know if I need any other parts or just the sensor? Im wanting to make a boss that will screw into a lambda sensor hole then the EGT sensor screw into the boss. Thanks
  22. Hi I have an link pressure sensor that I'm wanting to setup for a safety feature can someone point me in the direction of a thread to configure the link ECU I'm hoping to get rid of my factory fitted oil pressure sensor if I can use that input? Thanks
  23. Excellent seems to be pretty similar then. Thanks for your response.
  24. On idle what should I expect my injector duty cycle to be. I'm trying to work out my resolutions in the fuel table. I have my injector master fuel at 6ms with plus 20% trim. That's giving me around 38% in my fuel table on idle but my injector duty cycle seems really low at 1.6% maybe that's fine I'm relatively new to this just seems low to me. I'm running 550cc injectors on my R53 mini cooper s. Thanks
  25. So after changing my settings i got the lambda sensor working. In the mode drop down box I selected the setting for mini r53 and was hoping it would just pick up the setting. Thanks for everyone that helped!
