  1. Thanks Adam. I'll check all that out this week.
  2. I got this from a friend today as he is no longer using it. I want to see if I can get it to work . I was interested in finding any information on it. I also got the serial port adaptor. It has a USB B and a RS323 port on the adaptor. Which 1 will I use to connect to my laptop? And what software do I use? This is the front sticker. It has 3 plugs that plug into it.
  3. I did something similar to what your initial question was. I swapped out the standard style relay for a solid state mini relay and set up DC% tables that are temperature and speed . I had use the GP PWM calibrations. I did it for both fans that are driven by the ecu . I did it to eliminate the current shock of the fan start ups on idle. I start with 20% DC to start up fans about 3°c before the temp I want them on. I start the 2nd on 20% when first pump hits 100%DC. I also found this method controlled temperature better then just bring fans on at desired temps..
  4. Awesome. I was suspect something as the cars seem to run fine. That's the info I was chasing.
  5. I cleaned up the factory harness and installed a new Link Vr4ling extreme plug in ,I set as direct fire ignition with denso coils. The car started fine at left me to get a run in tune . While the tuner ha the car he had a couple events where the car started running rough. He checked the trigger scope and it had a little erratic fluctuation in the signal . I went over to check the wiring and did a trigger scope and it did not seem to bad. I have added the trigger scope below. I was going over the setuo and noticed something weird in the default evo 1-6 trigger setup , that it is set for ALL edges . I checked the base ,map settings for the vr4 and its the same. I then checked my G4 plus settings and also the base map file. They are both the same . trigger 1 is on FALLING edge and trigger 2 RISING. I though this was weird as the default setting are diffenrent between the g4x and then g4plus. I suspect that having it on ALL edges may cause some issues with to much information for the 4g63 but can someone explain what problems this may cause as i have checked a few mates files with g4x vr4 and evo 1-3 ecus and they are all the same. Also would altering the filter level help clean the signal. I want to set up a file and send back to him . TriggerScopeLogmark.llgx
  6. Im adding a log , settings and trigger scope. please check if this is correct. my timing light failed so ill get another tomorrow simon.llgx simon start.pclx
  7. Do I just use the preset mazda trigger setup? All I have changed in the software is to direct fire from distributor at the moment.
  8. Yeah, MX5 plug n play in this car.
  9. Awesome Yes i have wired in cylinder order , just after firing for configuration setup. I just wanting to make it would work as the last time I was asked was an evo 1-3 ecu and it had hardware connected to 1 of the outputs . The coils are already wired and now to program ecu before start up. Thanks
  10. Hi , I have been asked to help wire a Mazda BP1800 engine with the Link plug n play ecu for a coil on plug system. I noticed that the distributor has 2 signals going to ecu ( have not trigger scoped ) so I suspect it has the right signal . I found the 4 ignition output wires from the pin out and , wanting to make sure there is not a problem to wiring it as a direct spark system. I know I'll have to change the ignition mode and the dwell table. Also trying to find the correct firing order to use and ther seems to be a couple variations but that's for the wasted spark setup . Any advice would be great.
  11. Do you and the early 1g cas with the wires that come out or the later with the plug on the top. I have had problems with the wires on the early CAS . The wires get brittle and break . Are you getting power to the coils and injectors while cranking. I suspect you are as the case power is parallelled to the injector power in the stock harness. Are you still using low impedance injectors and still have the resistor installed?
  12. Oh cool. I forget how many inputs my aftermarket TCU uses. Apart from Rpm , tps and speed , there is another 6 DI inputs. Shift up and down for the paddle shift , Hold in 2nd for stalling up , sports and normal shift modes and brake input and 2 shift maps in auto/manual mode. That with 5 DI on the VR4Link would Max out the Extreme . I'll stay with my current TCU . Thanks again.
  13. Later in the year , I'm thinking of upgrading to a Link G4x Extreme from my VR4Link plug n play as I want to upgrade to drive by wire. I'm also hoping that I may be able to control my automatic transmission. At the moment, I have aftermarket TCU that controls the solenoids in auto mode and a manual mode via paddle shifters. I was wondering if any sort of auto transmission style control is something that may be in any future updates. My current TCU controls shifts via tps and speed for up shifts ans down shifts.
  14. How many inputs and output does the circuit board have. What wire in ecu would it be based on. The reason I ask is I have been offered an opportunity to done some wiring work for someone and as paymemt will be receiving a Haltech Elite 1500. I have checked the feature list and it's got 12 anv input but they don't have dedicated temp inputs so it's not many more the the ecu I have.
  15. Thats great to hear. So how many extra inputs would be available.
  16. Thanks for the reply.. How do I tell if it's 1 of the older ecus.
  17. Hi guys , I'm researching how to set a DBW system into my VR4Link ecu. I have spoken to a representative that said the ecu can be modified to enable the DBW. I cant find any info on this procedure. Will the ECU modification enable new inputs into the ecu as I only have 1 ANV available. I suspect the Ecu will need 4 inputs to control the DBW. Any info would be appreciated. I want to have all worked out before I decide to send ecu away . Thanks
  18. Awesome. I did not even get get chance to check the VR4 setup. It just just a cautionary thought. I don't run a mpi anymore anyways. I deleted when I made a custom loom.. Ill talk to him about wasted spark COP. Thanks..
  19. Oh cool ..Good to know I do have it running but I get my mate to confirm when he puts fuel in to make sure it matches the ecu readings. Thanks again.
  20. I did start to suspect that as when I was trying to find another output that could control the MPI relay it would cause the relay to sound like a gun. I do have the running with but have not really driven it. I will tell my mate and remove the COP setup and refit the wasted spark setup. Just as an extra question. The VR4link G4+ is different as I have been running car like that for a few years. It does not have the extra hardware connected to the ign4 output ? Thanks again Adam
  21. Hi there. I'm doing some wiring for a mate amd he has a G4x plug n play Evolink 1-3 He wanted me to setup a direct fire coil on plug system as I did the same to my VR4link. I was having a problem with the IGN4 out put that would just go negative. I found a thread In regard to the same problem. I saw that DI3 ( ign sw input ) is internally connectted to the IGN4 out put so I moved IGN SW to DI4 as he is not using Vehicle Speed ( Has powertune dash with GPS ) Will having the system setup this way cause me any problems. DI3 had no wire going to it and has no allocation in the software.
  22. I got it to work. I tried that and it didn't work , but it was very close. Powertune actually have the setting listed on there website. Thank again Adam
  23. Awesome . Thank you Adam. Ill give it a go tonight and let you know..
  24. Hi there , I'm doing a Powertune Dash install on a mates GSR Lancer . I have wired the fuel sender to the the ECU and getting readings. I'm using GP ANV 1 and have set up basic table to start. I've searched the Generic Dash Stream under Stream 1 and found the GP Analogue under frame 10..I've selected fuel level as I have name that in the Link software. I can't get it to display. I've also tried AN 1 voltage but still nothing. I'm not efficient on the CAN info yet but am keen to learn. This is also my first powertune dash install but have friends that use them regularly so once data is available should able o work that out. I have added the tune file so if someone can help , it would be appreciated. Jeromes GSR.pclx
  25. Awesome. I haven't updated the firmware for a while. I'll check and update firmware.. I was only thinking that this morning that I have to think atmospheric pressure , like a map sensor. Ill start with the 0 voltage and see how it goes. So the sensor it linear.
