    Thunder Temp3 input

Thanks for the quick resonse Adam. Mike and I are rocking along on our 928's thanks to you~! I'm shooting for a thanksgiving start up. The last time the car was on the road was 2009.~!

  3. is this also for the Thunder?

    Thunder Temp3 input

on the Thunder, I'm using the Bosch PST-F 1 for temp 3. Do I need an external pull up? I've seen references where it's needed and then seen other places where its not needed.
  5. I'm adding this here, because I posted on Facebook but that is a horrible place to keep technical info because searching for stuff even a few weeks old is difficult. I asked: what is the consensus on using the ABS sensors for traction control? ECU is Link Thunder, and it would be preferable to not interfere with the ABS system. Adamw: The Thunder differential DI’s 11-16 are specifically designed for tapping into ABS signals without upsetting the ABS. Assuming they are common VR or hall sensors (not magnetoresistive) me: Front ABS sensor is the same as the Porsche 944 and 968.
  6. I'm using the VAG Bosch Coil 07K905715G I'm planning on using the following wire sizes power positive(12v+) 18AWG TXL power ground 18AWG TXL ecu signal (5v) 20AWG (Link Harness supplied) signal ground 20AWG TXL This is for a NA 90 degree V8 with a max RPM of 7500. For power, I'm planning on running one 14AWG TXL to each bank ( approximately 48 inches from relay) and then split out to four 18AWG TXL (lengths ranging from 12 inches to 20 inches) This is my 1st foray into coil on plug so I don't know much about dwell, current & current draw. I found quite a
  7. Mike, There is a 6mm boss on the back of the cylinder heads that would be good for a ground location. I'm planning to loop one ground over to the other one at the connector for each coil, and then run a single ground back for each coil. (unless Adam tells me not to) I'm using the standard VAG coils instead of the Cayenne coils, just because there was a ton more info out there on the specs and use of them.
  8. Hey Mike~! Glad to see you posting on here~! Adam, Mike and I are both adding Thunder's to Porsche 928's. The factory cam (hall) Sensors are the same as Porsche 944's which I've seen some documentation in the help file for. I'm not using e throttles so mine should be more simple.

    Thunder temp inputs

Temp inputs on Link Thunder Currently I'm using 4 temp inputs: Engine coolant (after thermostat), Intake Air Oil Temp Radiator I would really like to monitor trans temps. Is there any way to use a GP input just for data logging?

Is anyone using a canbus tire pressure monitoring system? Can you log it or set up an audible alarm?
  11. I know a guy that recently sold his car because the shop that tuned it, locked the ecu and he didn't want to ship it 1500 miles every time it needed a small tweak. Shop was holding him hostage on his own car. He wasn't technical and refused to be in that situation. I wish that as an owner I could set a master password that would override anything else on the ecu to negate this kind of stuff. This is my largest source of stress about getting my car tuned.
  12. Thanks Adam~! Yes I am using the old school Delphi MAP sensor with the green weatherpack connector.
  13. I'm looking at the myriad of sensors that I have, and after looking at the config for temp and pressure sensors, I wanted to know is there some cross reference table of temp and cal tables for pressure sensors? For instance for oil pressure and temp I'm using the bosch PST-1 combo sensor but I don't know what the selection would be on the config. I'm also using the AEM 100PSI sensor for fuel pressure. Factory water temp sensor for a Porsche 928, a factory trans temp sensor from a C5 Corvette Z06, and an Intake Air temp sensor from a late 90's Z28 LS1, and a GM 1 bar MAP sensor. How do I
  14. No vette here.... just the transmission. Thanks CJ. That is what I was planning.
