  1. The Vipec gives you up to twelve 3D tables for controlling various items. You can see how many are used or available by looking at the Table Allocation at the bottom of the settings menu. This error message is telling you that you have used all twelve of them. You will need to rethink how you control some of the items. Using Virtual Aux can save using up 3D tables. Ray.
  2. I do not know of any wideband meter that sends serial data to the ECU. Even if there was, the Vipec and a lot of other ECU do not support it. The analog input is more then fast enough to read the signal.
  3. Dima, You have to be online to the ECU to select new items that use a 3D table. Once you do this the saved map will always have the table when looking at the map offline.
  4. Robroy, The NGK AFX is the best to use. The Innovate LC1 does not have a display, but this meter is badly designed as there is no signal ground wire to go to the ECU. I get constant support question as people find they do not read correctly because of this. Also the Innovate gives signal that jumps around. The NGK gives a much more stable signal, which makes tuning easier. To fix the LED display all you need is a piece of black electrical tape over it.

    Wire Harness

To be honest I have never worried about how well the wire matches the pin. When you crimp the pins to the wires, the wire size is not critical as the crimpers will adjust to the wire size. If the wire is very small in relation to the pin, I crimp and then solder to make sure the wire is secure. If the wire is too big for the pin, then I use a connector with bigger pins. I hope this answers your question. Ray.
  6. You should never need to re-tune after a firmware update. I am sure you have not set the minimum and maximum values for the analog limits and the ECU is in limp home mode. When you go to do a firmware update, you first get a window with information on the changes and warnings about things you must change or check after the update. 99.9% of people never read this. Load back your old map if you have a copy, then go the the Analog Limits under Analog Inputs and set all the minimums to 0.0 and all the maximums to 5.0. Your engine should now run as before you did the update. Ray.

    Wire Harness

Here is a chart that does both diameter, area and awg conversions.

    Wire Harness

Looking at the chart I get these sizes. 20 awg = Power and grounds. 24 awg = All other wires. Ray.
  9. If the air temperature never changes where you are then you could go without it, but we know that is impossible. Put the IAT in the cold air scoop. This will then make corrections for very hot days and cold nights, providing you have the IAT fuel correction table tuned correctly. Ray.
  10. I tuned a V44 standalone that was fitted to one of these engines last week. Send me an email and I will send you the map. [email protected] Ray.
  11. Change the dead times to the values that came with the ID injectors. Change the injector type from peak and hold to saturated. Adjust the master fuel calibation and then retune the engine. Ray.
  12. Mark, Do you have the plugin V88 for the Supra, or have you wired the V88 direct to the engine. If you send me a email I will give you a map. [email protected]
  13. For the EGT's Select each volt input as EGT (0-5v) Select each volt input Calibration as Cal 4 (if you are not using this cal for something else) Go to Cal 4 and set the output units to C deg. Set the Input Value A as 0.0 volts. Set the Input Value B as 5.0 volts. Set the Output Value A as what every the C deg value it equals at 0.0 volts. Set the Output Value B as what every the C deg value it equals at 5.0 volts. For the wideband signals. Select each volt input as Wideband Select each volt input Calibration as Cal 5 (if you are not using this cal for something else) Go to Cal 5 and set the output units to AFR. Set the Input Value A as what is the minimum for the PLX. Set the Input Value B as what is the maximum for the PLX. Set the Output Value A as what every the AFR value it equals at the minimum volts. Set the Output Value B as what every the AFR value it equals at the maximum volts.
  14. Active edge falling. Ray.
  15. Tim, That sounds like the master fuel setting is too small. If you are getting frustrated, then time to get help from the ATS Racing that sold you the V44. Very hard to see what is wrong via a forum.
  16. Tim, We have plugin ECU for the Rev1 and Rev2 Celica/MR2 cars and they have no problems with the ECT reading correctly. The selection used in the software is STD Bosch NTC. If your car is different, then it must have a pullup resistor inside the dash. The Vipec also has a pullup on the temp inputs. If there are two pullups, then both the Vipec and the dash will read wrong.
  17. The connector is a Molex Mini-Fit Jr. Part number 39-01-2040 The pins are part number 39-00-0078. Ray.
  18. Send me the data log in an email. That way I can look at the items you are not showing. [email protected] Ray.
  19. The LC1 does not have a sensor ground wire only a ground. This is the common cause of problems with this meter. You need to connect the LC1 ground to the ECU ground. Ray.
  20. For the idle valve connect one wire to ignition switched power and the other to an Aux output. Select that output as ISC Solenoid. If you do not know the frequency of the valve try 150Hz. For the boost valve connect one wire to ignition switched power and the other to an Aux output. Select that output as Boost Solenoid and 20Hz. The Open Loop AFR Table has nothing to do with any wideband meter or sensor. With it turned on, the ECU will use the values in the table to lookup the AFR you require and then use maths to calculate the injection time correction. This makes the fuel table flatter and quicker to tune. Just in case you missed it, this table has nothing to do with your LC-1 or any other wideband meter. The Open Loop AFR Table should be always set to On. There is never a case where you would have it set to Off.
  21. This is how you can control a three wire idle valve using just one Aux output.
  22. If you use 24 teeth with none missing and a cam signal, the engine will run perfectly and make good power. Other SAE teams use this setup and you will not get the same performace with anyother tooth setup.
  23. Yes it is the same for the V88. Ray.
  24. Tim, Getting harness made in Australia is not easy. Try Greg Smith at Smith Racing. http://theknockbox.com.au If Greg will not make it, he should know who would.
