JMP got a reaction from TonyJ in ECU for 1ZZ
K's are stored on the cluster, if they're not showing there's likely a fuse blown. ECU is not needed for the heater to function

JMP got a reaction from Fotis in Injector dead time
probably not useful for you but as an indication I've got the following :
290cc 1zzfe injectors have a deadtime of 0.608msec at 14V
349cc 2zzge injectors have a deadtime of 0.93msec at 14V
But as posted above, you can start with around 1msec at 14V and then vary the system voltage adjusting the deadtimes at each breakpoint to maintain consistent AFR.
I've got a big DC power supply that I connect in place of the alternator when doing that part of the calibration

Update: I was able to Use 3 Virtual outputs with ECT based conditions to vary the cluster output. It doesnt make use of all the bars since im out of conditions on the Physical Aux but its enough to know when the engine is warmed up. and overheating.
May be able to add another Virtual aux to expand 2 more variables.

Hi,
Any update on serial stream availability for current storm ecu?
Thanks.

JMP got a reaction from Volcom86 in What is wrong with my tune?
on a second look this morning, your tuner has also used both the charge temp approximation table and the IAT Fuel Trim Table, without much correlation between the two. Same with using modeled fuel mode and the warm up enrichment table is still in use as you would in a traditional fuel mode setup. whole map/config likely needs revisiting

JMP got a reaction from Godschylde777 in Wiring Questions for Gracey
Nitrous activation would likely go to one of the DI inputs, pressure switch could go to a spare DI or Volt input, all depends on what you have spare in your ECU configuration
If you're connecting the innovate analogue output to the ECU, you would use one of the spare Volt inputs

Thank for Realdash developing such a powerful app that I don't have to buy expensive AIM racing instruments.
My car is Subaru GRB, ej25 with link G4 + thunder. I developed a protocol conversion module using STM32. Then can convert the Can signal of the link G4+ into a Realdash protocol, and then connect to the mobile phone through a TTL to Bluetooth module, so as to display almost all the data on the mobile phone (as long as the PClink can display).
Welcome to exchange

I've had it working on Windows 10 via USB with no issues, just followed the instructions in the 1st post. That was on the g4+ plugin in my daily driver and on another g4+ Xtreme. It didn't work on my G4+ Storm as that doesn't have the datastream mode required

JMP got a reaction from M1tch in VVTi - link to TP% or MAP?
I'm working through a new map for a turbo 1zz I've been tinkering with for many years. When I next get to the dyno I'll be trying a 4D fueling setup, with MPG for the main table, TPS for the 4D table, and TPS for the VVT table. Will be tuning the main fuel table with the VVT and 4D tables zero'd out, when the main table is done I'll then do the VVT and 4D tables after that.
If that doesn't work out nicely I'll give it a go with TPS as the load axis for the main fuel table with a BAP/MAP XOver equation load source.
Have had the turbo setup running for years with the VVT load set to TPS and Fuel table as MAP, but looking to make it a bit cleaner

JMP got a reaction from M1tch in Basemap?
You need to use a map sensor for it to work. Your engine will have a 36-2 sensor which will work perfectly. It's a massive pain to change the trigger wheel on the crank if you wanted to change to a 36-4(timing cover off, timing chain off etc).
It's unusual that boomslang configured the loom to use AN Volt inputs rather than the dedicated analogue temperature inputs, hopefully they have wired in the pullup required when using the regular AN Volt inputs for temperature sensors. Adam's file is still setup for a 3bar Link MAP sensor connected to AN Volt 2, I've updated it with the configuration for your AEM 3.5bar sensor.
Your next steps are
- wire the map sensor to the AN Volt 2 and connect it to the plenum post-throttle body. I use the port on the plenum which used to go to the charcoal cannister VSV.
- load the provided file and perform a TPS and MAP sensor calibration.
- do a base timing check with a timing light to ensure the ignition offset is correct (your map is set to 140, I find most 1zz's are around 145)
- Get the engine running by adjusting the "Master Fuel" number under fuel main if it doesn't fire straight up
- Ensure the AFR is in an acceptable range with your wideband (you have a wideband connected to the fury right?)
- Use the Cam Angle Test in the VVT Setup menu to confirm the Trigger 2 VVT Offset is set correctly (your map is set to 47.7, the last one I did ended up at 51)
- Configure the Trigger 1 and Trigger 2 Arming Threshold tables using data from the Trigger Scope
With all that done it will be ready to start tuning and you will have very few further issues.
On the 1zz's I've done, I use the "Toyota 1ZZ" Cam Control Mode combined with the "Toyota 2NZ VVTi" trigger mode. I've never used the "Toyota 2NZ-FE" Cam Control Mode your map was configured with.

Hi All,
The developers of RealDash have been working with us to make their app compatible with Link ECU's. It is now compatible.
For those that havent seen it you can learn more here: http://www.realdash.net/
In my short play it seems to work well and has lots of cool features. Lap timing, navigation, configurable alarms, live graphs, live streaming of data, music player, etc. The app and a selection of basic "skins" are totally free, then there are some more fuller featured paid for "premium skins" that do more stuff such as data logging and may look cooler these are still relatively cheap ranging about $3-$10. One example below.
Right now it wont work on the Atom, Monsoon, Kurofune or Black Storm as the serial stream is not enabled in those ECU's but we hope to enable that setting in the next couple of months. Right now it will work in the Blue Storm, Xtreme, Fury, Thunder, all Plug-ins & Force. It will also work on old G4/Vipec V series ECU's.
Connection to your tablet/smartphone is direct using your normal Link USB tuning cable, for phones/tablets that only have a micro USB port you will need a "Micro USB OTG adapter". Instructions for setup and connection attached to bottom of this post.
Edit 18 Jan 2020;
Have added a zip folder with an example configuration for CAN connection using the generic USB or Bluetooth CAN Adapters (see realdash website for supported adapters). This config also includes an example of how to send an onscreen button press to the ECU.

JMP reacted to cj in Differential Fuel Pressure
change your fuel system type to FP sensor. Without that, Fuel pressure is not actually used for the various calculations. The way you had it, it tells the ECU to always assume it's 300kpa.
