  1. Hi

I would leave all the ECU settings as they were when the engine was running as it should. These won't have changed overnight.

Im assuming that you have a remote or PC so the first step is going to be to look at all the inputs to the ECU and check that they are reading correctly. TPS, MAP, Engine Temp, Engine RPM (when cranking) this should be stable.

Also check earths. If these are iffy all sorts of weird things can happen.

  2. First question was the ECU of a Subaru before?

If it was then chances are the configuration will be close. You should use General not VR4. Also check the ignition configuration.

If you download the instruction manual it will help you a lot.

  3. There are fuel and ignition numbers in the ECU but they are only a starting point. You can choose to load one of the base maps and these will be a little closer but you will still need to tune from this point.

The Base maps also configure the ins and outs of the ECU to suit the matching adapta. So if you are wiring in the ECU these will need changing to suit your wiring.

  4. Colours should go as follows.

    1-Black (Engine Block)

    2-Red (12V in)

    3-Red (to knock link digital)

    4-Blue (to knock link digital)

    5-Black (to knock link digital)

    6-Blue (Signal in)

    7-Shield

    8-Blue (2nd Signal in)

  5. There is a very good chance it will be a hall effect sensor.  The thing to look for is if in the factory application the sensor had a power supply to it. If it did then it will be a hall or optical sensor.
