  1. My car has been down for almost 2 years and there have been several firmware updates since. Can I just update to the latest firmware and not have to update all the previous ones? I currently have 4.9.7.1467 Feb 2013. The latest does state backwards too...V4.8.4 to present V4.10.2V4.8.4 to V4.10.2 Stu
  2. This is what concerns me and how to look for this. Some new added features must be setup prior to the ECU being used again. I did DL the newest firmware on my work PC because all I do with it here is to view logs and such. Nothing in the last 2 firmwares looked to be important to my layout. I have attached my latest map just in case you have time to look at it and see. AN10, 11 I do use, but never have had issues that I know of. 130810_dyno_first_run.pcl
  3. My current V88 firmware is 4.9.7.1467 Feb 2013. New one is 4.9.9.1784 Nov 2013. But there was 4.9.8.1540 in April 2013. Does it make any difference If I update w/o first doing the previous update? Also, is there any place that lists the changes in each firmware prior to installing them? I couldn't find anything. It just says it is within the new firmware. Stu
  4. Scott Thanks for the solution as I for sure will test it this week. Thanks for explaining the Digital Inputs. And yes, I am an internal knock user! PS I never received that email reply as written above. Stu
  5. I am asking if anyone is having this issue. As soon as I upgraded to the new firmware, my Knock "on/off" went to "off", and I am unable to get it to stay "on". Every time I tab to "on", it goes on for a fraction of a second then immediately turns right back off. On the logging, it states Knock-OFF-DI5 Pullup. Issue here is I am using DI5 for my Ethanol sensor with pullup "off" because I use a 2.2k pullup outside the vipec. Plus, it has worked just fine up until now. So why all of a sudden is Knock associated with DI5 Pullup??? How can I get around this? Why did the knock Digital Input get re-allocated? And where was it before? If I am not mistaken, of all the Digital Inputs, only D5 and D6 have channels for knock and flex fuel. I use D5 for Flex Fuel and D6 for Launch Control. If this is the case, then where was the knock channel previously associated? Stu
  6. You mentioned that you would provide the pinouts. I could not see them here. Also, I have not read this whole article in depth, but this "code" your referring to, how does this "code" get into the unit? Do you have to hook it up to a laptop via USB and communicate with it then upload the "code" I think what your saying that in order for this to communicate with the Vipec, this code needs to be installed onto the Arduino MB. Also, where did you procure this "Flying Leads" CAN cable for he Vipec? Now for a stupid question.........Is there a product now on the market with a display and all that does the same thing, yet all pulg n play? Stu
  7. Problem solved. Evidently my new laptop did not have the Com printer/LPI ports installed. So I added this into the devices/hardware settings. It now is seen in the device manager and I can now connect to the Vipec. I still get a yellow exclamation symbol in the device manager. But I can live with this. Claims there are no resources being used. (Although I did not look there once connected) If this happens to anyone else, just go to windows add hardware wizard, search for Com and Port and hit install. Then it will be showing in the device manager. Also, do not install the USB drivers until after the com port has been installed. Stu
  8. So I just tried connecting to the V88 with my new Win 7 laptop. In the device manager there is no provision or listings for "Com Ports". Does not exist. I plug the USB cable in and the laptop does not recognise any connections. Someone mentioned I need a "Virtual" USB ->Com" port software. Can someone shed some light on how to connect. I heard that FTDI software may work, but I am not sure if this is compatible. Stu
  9. I understand. Right now, it is set at Innovate LC1. I can change to Calc 4. If I go into Calc 4, it is already set up for 0v-5v, 7.35-22.0 AFR. So If I change this from LC1 to Calc 4, I then can maybe change the 5.0v to like 4.5v? And see if this fixes it? Or would I change the 22.0 to 21.5. Not sure exactly which value I should change. Since this seems to be a much easier fix, I will try this first. I am pretty sure my LC1 is chassis grounded and not ECU grounded. Although I can run a ground wire off the LC1 ground wire over the the ECU ground easily as well.
  10. Would I assume then that the gauge is accurate? And where in the Vipec would I find where to calibrate? Stu
  11. This topic might have been previously discussed, but I couldn't find answers. Is it common to have the Vipec read about .5 AFR higher than the Display gauge? I have a Innovate, Bosch type sensor. It read fine when I had another management system. Is there a "fix" for this? Is it a grounding issue? I would really like to know the true AFRs. Whether it is on my 52mm gauge, or the Vipec. Plus I do not really know which one is correct. The Vipec or the gauge. I suspect the gauge is accurate and the Vipec is reading higher. Stu

This is not true guys. Setting up the system to work in Seq isnt that difficult. I have emailed Rune how to do it and what settings I have for the 3 main VSVs. There are only 3 that are of importance. EBV, IACV, EGCV. You just need to turn "on" 3 GP Aux outputs that are directed to the related 2JZ VSV pinouts. Cross over the 3 Pins associated on the 2JZ over the the associated GP Outputs your going to use. Now, that being said, we did do over 50 dyno pulls JUST to tune the Seq operation. So my settings here are tried and tested to work perfect. I cant think of other variables that would change these. But each engine is unique as how it moves air through it and the boost characteristics. Then the personal preference. Here is a screenshot of my Vipec settings. http://97supraturbo.com/Vipec/VSV%20Ouputs.jpg Here is a Dyno of it. (This graph is SAE Corrected Smoothing 5) Uncorrected was 682hp http://97supraturbo.com/Dynos%20and%20Drag/PacNW%202012.bmp Stu
  13. Tested and it works! Thanks. Now I need to figure out how to "link" the switch activation to the other 0 WG map.
  14. I do have 1 more question. Do I assume I use On Level = "High"? and Active Edge "rising" ?
  15. Thank you sir! This is a perfect answer. Thank for adding in additional instructions.
