  1. Hi! I can see that it is long time since I made this thread We are now back on tuning a new build 1jz vvti engine, with Tomei Poncams. BC springs, shimless lifters, piston/rods etc.. We had some touble with the grip on the dyno. we got 490hp on 1.3bar boost, full pressure on 3600rpm. We had a run on 2bar, the reading was not correct, but we got 576hp. We need to trie with wider tires to get more grip on the dyno. And need to change the spring in the wastegate so we can pull a run on 1.5-1.6-1.7 etc.. We did no change on the vvti table this time, we will trie on the next dyno run! ARE YOU GAYS 100% SURE THAT THE VVTI SOLENOID IS NOT ONLY ON AND OFF ? Can it adjust the cam in degrees, (Eg 20 would be 20 degrees advanced from its most retarded position) What is maximum off degree adjustment? if we plott in 50 to 100?
  2. Hi I forgot the F4 Thanks! Yes I tested it over 1500rpm. So If I set the cam angle test to Off the vvti solenoid will work ? I have to test that tomorrow! You don`t see anything else that is wrong With the setup? I`ve been 2 times at the dyno, but we have never got the vvti to function! So Next time I don`t og before I got the solenoid to work first Kim
  3. Hi Today I tried to plot in same setting as Yours, but still not working..Can you check my file With Yours to see if you find something else that is wrong? Is it correct With cam type inlet/lh ? I tried With Rh also, but still not working. I have an extra solenoid so I also tested With holding it in my hand when I rev the engine, no movment. when I run a test at Aux 1 solenoid is working, also when I tried to change to ISC Solenoid, ( just to trie) than it is fully open all the time. But when I run it on vvt cam solenoid setting it is not working at all... Also one other thing was strange today, when I did som changes to the vvti setting an so on, I pressedF2 all the time, Also Save as, and F2. But when I turn off and start again old setting was comming up..several times this happends, to get it to work I needed to open file and download the New saved file to the ECU. than the changes was stored..WTF? this have never been any problem before ( I hope) than mabye some changes haven`t been stoored..   4. Hi Okay, Thanks a lot! I will trie to plot in the same options as yours. yes, we tried to change from 50Hz and up to 300HZ just to see if we got any reaction. Kim
  5. Hi Thanks for quick replay! I didn`t see it before now The + (Power) is same as from the + to the Injectors. and the second wire is Orange With a black stripe. Aux1 I tested today, I actual get 14V from the + and from the Orange and black wire, that can`t be correct ? 2 positive wire, and non ground..hmm The last file from dyno is Attached.   6. Has anyone here connected V44/88 to 1JZ vvti engine? we don`t get vvti function to work. I think there is different from 2jz vvti to 1jz vvti. I have heard that 2jz has 2 kam sensors (one in rear and one i middle of engine) The 1jz vvti has only one cam sensor rear at the engine. with 2wires I`m not 110% sure the vvti is connected like it should be, it don`t get a seperat signal wire from the cam-sensor. 2wires from cam sensor to ecu, 2 from crank, and 2 from Aux 1 to vvti sensor.
  7. Thanks! That helps a lot! Do you drive on e85 fuel ? If you do, could you share ignition map table ? If somebody also have vvti map from the 1jz vvti engine please share! Also Ignition map. I drive on E85 fuel
  8. Hi Have anybody here tuned the 1jz vvti engine from Toyota on Vipec ? My engine tuner was not 100% sure how to tune the VVTI map on the engine. When you open the vvti engine target "map" you get from 0-100 TPS and 0-7000rpm. When you plot such as 10 in a route,example on 3000rpm, will it say 10 degree twist on cam? highest number you can plot is 100, so it seemed a bit strange. We tried carefully to plot 2.0 in every route from 2000rpm-7000rpm, to se if there was any change, but nothing happends. and hi did`t want to gamble.
