paulr33 got a reaction from fj510 in Vipec PNP V44? No map sensor
This is how mine is setup on evo 8 using evo 9 PNP v44.

note , read the VTS help file on each sector before making any changes and double check / triple check everything.

I’ve got an innovate wideband which has native 1v narrow and 5v wide signal. Connect the wide 5v to your next free analog input and you’re almost done.

if you aren’t using an innovate controller then find out the calibration table or values and you can set your own calibration table.

once you have wideband input working and the displayed value in tve VTS is correct then you can look up the wideband 02 feedback modes if you want to use it. You don’t have to but it will save fuel and make the engine more efficient (less waste).

Mine is set to complete closed loop which means the vipec actively watches the wideband af/r in real time and actively reduces fuel to reach 14.7or whatever targets you dial into the “AFR target” table.

as you drive along you can actively see the vipec trimming fuel on light cruise and it will always hit 14.7 very quickly.

See this video at 2 minute mark to see the v44 actively trim fuel in real time. AFR vs AFR target

Probably doesn’t help but I have vipec v44 working with CAN streams to a plex usdm 102 and a heap of outputs working already. Have you purchased the chrono already.  The plex product is very flexible, end less options
Also don’t forget some of the number so out of the v44 need an offset so I think the temperature ones are off by 50deg. The VTS help file tells you the offsets. So if oil temp is 100deg the packet will say 150deg because of the -50 offset

If you have wideband don’t bother feeding it a narrow 1v signal , you can simply change the analog input type on the ECU to be a 5v input and feed it the range table for your wideband and it will use the full wideband range.

Then you can if you want run full closed loop or open loop. I’ve got mine setup on full closed loop from an innovate wideband and the ecu will adjust the fuel in real time to obtain 14.7 (or whatever target you set).

See if your vipec is CAN enabled and if so get a plex usdm display. A million times more workable and flexible then using a phone or tablet

I used a base project called CAN_recieve and simply modified it to talk to the 4d Display systems screen library and process all the values from my Vipec V44 on Evo 8 setup.

The project is known as mcp_can or CAN_Recieve. I found it in google last time and simply used the free library code to get started.

I didn’t have any issues with speed and always had fast updates on my display. The problem with my setup was when I needed to change something on the display I had to put it all apart and plug it into the PC seperately to update the 4D systems screen and then the arduino code seperately and also the screen would drop out and flicker because the wiring was always loose from the plugs.
The plex usdm is a commercial solution and I can change the scenes and layouts and customise to my hearts content while sitting in the car via USB on the side of the display.

Good work. I ended up going for a plex usdm but making the arduino CAN display did help me learn it all and how it works which was good fun

some final work on this before i glue the case and mount on the apexi stand
not sure if i like the R34 GTR style bar graphs on the screen, a little too small, but either way the display is there via touch screen
the software and programming library for the screen is pretty complex and extremely helpful, the video below show briefly how it works

sorry for delay, had to sort out a few things and fix some bugs, but all working well with my new sensors
need to finish the documenation (ive done about 1/3 so far)

this is where im upto with the current display. some minor changes, now includes oil temp, oil pressure and exhaust temp.
also included knock display status from the vipec and global knock triggered times # which reflects # of times vipec has trigger excessive knock and cut timing.

i cant find a good symbol for pressure so i used *
    hi,
The board design is a simple arduino Uno with two shields (CANBUS shield & 4d displays systems shield). No other changes are required to the board and these are off the shelf items.

the rest of the solution is simple arduino code to drive the CANBUS adapter and then display values on the 4d display.

happy to post my code when it's finished

managed to get an extension cable made up succesfully using 3 x PC USB Dupont cables which are a 5 pin flat cable - the exact same type used by the arduino display adapter shield to the display screen so i have 2.7m of 5 pin loom cable shielded which is plenty long enough to get behind the evo dash and into the glovebox. tested and works well. new sensors next

Yeah in comparison it looks heaps better than the Apexi RSM. The RSM runs a Vacuum fluroscent display and it's basically dot matrix. The uLCD32 is really sharp and bright. At night is amazing. The iPhone video capture and YouTube format really dull down quality of the display in the video

some more testing, the green square turning on is for when 02 closed loop via wideband is running (pretty nifty)
INJ DUTY not working but i know why, so an easy fix. stand should arrive this week
