  1. Its Okay Adam, as long as I can get the engine to run stable (Still working on, had to enter -30 degree in the calibration) I will be swapping out the cams for ones with 3 slots from Josh at Kelfords in the next round of testing.
  2. Pretty sure I have figured it out will post my understanding later and see if its correct.
  3. On the Subaru EJ20 NA motor from around the 2010 period it has 2 groves on the cam as opposed to the 3 that the turbo motors have as can be confirmed by the scope trace. With your help Adam we got that sorted my question do you think the work around will allow me to still use the AVCS and is there anywhere that I can read about how the Link Thunder would manage the solenoids to control it? Purple is the spark on cylinder 1, yellow is crank and blue cam as you can see it has two groves not 3 as we expected.
  4. Hi Adam, Sorry I misunderstood you, okay so I just gave it a try and the engine is now firing, I think I may need to get rid of the excess fuel from the past attempts and it should be good to go. I also did some checks I have a number of EJ20 NA engine with AVCS only on the intake, all have 2 slots on the intake cam. I also have a number of turbo EJ25 and they have 3 slots on the intake cam. i will discuss with Josh tomorrow at Kelfords as we have some R&D cams beng made. Thanks Adam, your service and support is the reason I buy so many Link ECU and tell everyone that you guy are the best.
  5. Here is the ECU program in case I got something wrong in the set up. 5mpreza DOHC 200815 Ver 3.pclr
  6. Hi Adam, I removed the plug and put a led on the injector plug and videoed it, I also checked for trigger error and it said 1. Here is a link tot he video have no idea if it will help or not. https://youtu.be/0t2nKkedILk
  7. Chris is the Polarity set LOW, if its high just click on it and select LOW. You should see the fan turn off, then store the change.
  8. Adam I have checked the timing and its correct unless I am a full 360 degree out. When you guys say the Trigger 1 is fitted to left band, I assume the left bank is the one on the passenger side and you are not talking about it when you are in front of the car?
  9. Hi Adam, I got that problem sorted it was a problem with the 12 v supply, which leads to a question, I am using solid state relays on 4 function because I use this engine for R&D into exhaust pipe using pressure transducers plotting pressure waves etc. I have the 4 relays connected to DI 11 - 14. I turn them on by pulling to ground. They are for Cam sensor 12 v, Coils 12 v, Injectors 12 V & 12V for the DBW. Would there be any issue doing it that way. Also here is a further trace after sorting supply, I can't seem to get a longer one am I doing something wrong? Will see if the car now starts in a hour or so.
  10. Its cold here for Australia, and look what happened when I tried to get a longer trace Adam.
  11. Not sure how to tell Adam the engine I think is out of a 2010 car, its NA, It has 3 pin sensor at the back of each head and the solenoid at the front. DOHC but only adjustable on the intake.
  12. It won't fire, I don't think the spark is consistent, it appears like its a bit random. I will put a scope on the crank and the power to coil tomorrow and see if it is consistent, In the trace above the cam doesn't seem to appear on the last two revolutions.
  13. Hi Guys, Thunder wire in ECU, I have a Subaru EJ 20 DOHC but only intake with AVCS, I check fuel and spark and its all good, I set the Trigger Setup to "Subaru EJ20 Quad AVCS", but I also tried the EJ25 AVCS but no different. Anyone got any suggestions? Tony
  14. Thanks for this guys I had to same problem with it shutting the relay, change "When Stalled" setting and the problem is fixed.
  15. no I didn't but I can do it again now and see. Adam just hit capture after I was cranking and it was all good, got the correct trigger readings. Thanks for the . My problem can't be the ECU then, will need to look some were else
  16. Hi Brad, I used what Link had in the sample program for this engine. is this what you want?
  17. I install a G4 plus Thunder wired into a Subaru Impreza 2001 SOHC EJ20. Had the car running for a couple of day then it just died. I have checked the scope log on the ECU and it can no longer see the Cam & Crank sensor, Crazy thing is I can hook a scope to the same 3 wires and it gets the correct signal. The ECU just sees a signal neg 0.3V to 0V were the oscillscope sees the correct trace voltages. Not sure what to look at next I assume its something not set up correct in the set up file. But why did it read correct on set up then not after the engine died. Below is the two images that show you what I mean. Any advise greatly appreciated.
  18. Hi, This is not a typo but will your O2 read as lean as Lambda 2 or even 2.4 on the Link Thunder ECU's and with the logging software. Sorry for the dumb question but its a HCCI engine running at Lambda 2 - 2.5. Tony
  19. Thanks Adam, I did watch part of the course just haven't had time to finish. Also was a bit confused about his point on what frequency to set the knock sensors.
  20. I am not sure if this will work but figure its worth asking, if I log the sensors with the table data set at zero but engine timing pulled back then I get a base line noise for the different rpm. Export that fire then use excel to compile a table for all the different set point required then load this up back into the ECU so the adjustments can be done if the engine knocks. Will this work?
  21. I have a G4+ Thunder Do I turn on the Global Knock to log and am I correct that each knock sensor I have two is not logged seperatly?
  22. Thanks Brad I will give it a go
  23. A couple of question re setting up Knock, The ECU is a Thunder, the engine is a Subaru 6 cylinder with two Link Knock sender mount one on each bank. Is the 13 khz narrow band the right setting for the Link Knock senders Is 5,000 rpm the best maximum setting rpm they can work accurately?
  24. Thanks Adam, your a good man your worth more money
  25. I want to take the 0 - 5V output from my dyno and use the G4+ to log it as I tune which is no big deal. The bit I wanted to do that I can't figure out, is it possible to get a X Y graph to appear on the tuning page or for me to be able to have the fuel and timing table on the log Tab so I can adjust them based on what I see on the graph. The reason I would prefer the graph then say a gauge is because of the ability to look at the change over time. The other option is it possible to run the software on two computer screens with two Tabs open at once?
