  1. On my G4+ I have configured it to have one input go high when cranking to start the engine. It seems some people don't do that, Does Link recommend that it be done or not worth the effort?
  2. Hi Scott, So I backed them back, rpm to 500, TPS to zero and 5 second delay then saved it and guess what it started up and started logging so it was all my fault. Just not sure why it logged all the other times but not this. Anyway again you and Adam saved the day for us dumb buggers. Thanks for the help
  3. Hi Scott, I will adjust them down as the car is on a trailer at the moment and see if it then starts logging.
  4. Figure I better put it in a separate topic, I have a Link G4+ thunder and the race meeting before the last I downloaded the log from the ECU, I also deleted the old one, after the last track day I went to down load the file again but there was only 19 seconds of log there. I have since tried to get it to log unsuccessfully. So as Adam suggested I started the car and hit F12, which says its not logging and there is no used memory. So here is a screen shot of the set up and F12. Idea or suggestions as to what I have done wrong will be greatly appreciated.
  5. Okay so moved the volt tolerance to 0.3V and its all good. My only issue right now is I can't get the ECU to Log anymore. I assumed that when I down load the log file from the ECU and I tell it to delete the old one it clears space for the next one. was this a correct assumption or not? Or is it the case that I have remove the old file in a different way? Tony
  6. Thanks Adam I will give that a try.
  7. Hi Adam, I was a bit nervous about going to high, there is about 0.5V between gear, is there issue if the Volt Tolerance over laps, maybe I am miss understand what it is, If I set it at 0.3 is that Plus and Minus 0.3V or a range of 0.3V?
  8. Hi Scott, Here is the ECU program, EG33 G4 + Thunder 161012 V1.pclr
  9. Hi Guys been away playing with other toys and the gearbox has been out of the Subaru. My issues was before and is today the fact that for what ever reason the log shows the gearchange dropping to zero between gears. I also have a Race tech logger and it shows a smooth step between the each gear voltage, is that how it is supposed to be. Here is a image of what I mean the log file is 2 hours long so not sure how I reduce its size to be able to post it. 5th gears is not showing but I think I have a voltage error in the set up for that one.
  10. Hi Scott, This might sound like a dumb suggestion but it maybe worth you guys letting the tuner adjust that number if they want. The reason would be that at that rate a 4 stroke engine is doing 1,200, if the tuner could adjust it he would be able to check if the spark is still good at higher rpm. If he suspect he has a problem with a coil it would be a method to check it. In my case I believe the plug coils I have are not making the grade but can't confirm that.
  11. Hi Scott, I am getting old and I can't remember if I asked or ment to ask, When you have the ECU in test mode for spark at what rate does it fire the spark?
  12. How do we manage the brake boaster with out stuffing everything up
  13. Hi Scott, Yes a NA engine hoping to run up to 8 - 9,000 rpm.. The reason I am going to TPS is because I want to run individual throttle bodies.
  14. Hi I want to tune the engine for TPS so as I understand I config load as BAP and the fuel and Ignition tables as Load being TPS. The ECU is a Thunder, do I need a MAP sensor still and if so how best to use it. Any tricks or advises would be great as well. Thanks
  15. Hi Scott, Right now I have a average temp probe which is on the outlet manifold its just that with the 3 I have plus oil temp I have used them all in the Thunder. For every ones general knowledge if a Subaru engine blows a head gasket you can see it straight away in the cylinder temp on that head. Guess it would be the same on any V type of engine.
  16. Hi Adam, I see around 10 C difference between the heads, Subaru and I totally disagree on the way their engine cooling system is designed. Things like thermostat in the bottom of the engine not the outlet of the engine like every other car has. I only know of Porsche that have the thermostat in the inlet, everyone else is smart enough to have it at the top outlet of the motor which makes sense. There are a bunch of other problems with there cooling system to long to go into here. By the way Adam the TPS tuning is going great, thanks for your help.
  17. I have two temperature probes on e into each of the back of the head on my Subaru engine, is it possible average these in some way to use in the main control of the engine?
  18. Hi Guys, Link G4+ Thunder I want to run Bosch coils on plug and they require 73mA each to run them I will run 6 of. Is that with in the ability of the Link ECU to run them. Attached is the tech doc from Bosch in case I have read something incorrectly. Single_Fire_Coil_P65-T_Datasheet_51_en_2777882763pdf.pdf
  19. Doesn't the resister cause the coil to take longer to reach full voltage due to the restriction of current there for the Dwell time number will be wrong?
  20. Hi Simon, So is there a way to determine the correct voltage to the coils and dwell time etc?
  21. I seem to not be developing full power in my spark plugs and getting a decent spark. The engine is a EG33, with a separate igniter that does 6 coils and has coils on each head. What is the correct way to set up the ECU for this kind of ignition system? Attached is the current setup Tony
  22. I keep trying to set the capture Time/Divide for the trigger scope at 1s but when I crank the engine it stops capturing and the Time/Divide has reverted to 200ms. Does that mean there is a trigger sensor error?
  23. Is it possible with the Link Thunder to run 2 injectors per cylinder and control them differently two each other? I would really need a fuel table for the smaller one and fuel table for the larger.
  24. Thanks Adam, you must get sick of all us dumb buggers asking questions. Keep well.
  25. Help Please What haven't I turned on to get the gear change cut to work, I seem to be missing some part of the setup. Thanks. EG33 G4 + Thunder 160918 V2.pclr Log testing gearchange kill.llg
