  1. Hi Dave, Absolutely no stress - im pretty sure the filtering and slight adjustment to the arming threshold will solve the issue. I've attached the proposed new tune - will hopefully try it tonight and post back results. StuÂ
  2. Went for another log session yesterday. Â Changed the dwell up a bit and its has seemed to smooth things out alittle bit but hasn't solved the issue. Â I got thinking about the triggering and then in the new log from yesterday I've noticed im getting a few trig1 errors which seem to occur in sync with the miss. Â I currently have trig1 filtering at level 1 so will increase this to 2 and also see if I can keep the HT leads further away from the CAS. Fingers crossed this will help. Will update again once I've tried it.
  3. Here's a log file and pcl file. Cheers Stu
  4. Hi guys, Hopefully have answered my own question/found the issue but after a second opinion please. Im running a 4age turbo setup with a G4+ storm with direct ignition via 2x 3 channel Link ignitors (1x spare channel each) and 4x HEC715 coils.  This is a new setup and im still running the car in (~70kms so far) but have a nice safe tune to 6psi and 8000rpm.  Pretty conservative timing in the positive pressure areas so plenty more to go. From the outset the car has felt a little 'soft' from 6000rpm and above which I just put down to not alot of timing but after a recent trip to Meremere to make sure everything was working ok I've noticed that there is actually really soft miss from 6000rpm.  I've started simple with fault finding and replaced the leads and plugs (BKR7E) with a new spare set without change which in my mind points the finger at either the coils/ignitors or something in the config. My question is does anyone know what are the dwell/voltage capabilities of the Link ignitors and the HEC715 coils? I've checked the logs from the road tune/Meremere and the system voltage is pretty much spot on and varies very little away from 14.15volts.  The coils are fed from a 40amp relay so I don't think its a feed issue.  I've read the coils do have a known issue of spark jump across the terminals but only for much higher load scenarios (can be solved with terminal boots anyway). In my case I'm fairly certain the dwell times are the cause but I'm yet to adjust these up until I've done a bit more research.  My hunch is that the current dwell time for operating voltage is too low and that's causing the issue - its currently set at 2.2ms from 6000rpm and reduces to 2.0ms at 8000rpm. Im thinking somewhere around 3 - 3.5ms is probably better. Unfortunately I don't have any data sheets for the ignitors or coils as to their capabilities.  I've found some info online for the coils and it looks like they'll handle quite a bit of dwell time. Is there anyone who has run these coils before that would have a dwell table I could have a look at?  Or if anyone has any other ideas.  I'd assume the link ignitors can handle pretty much anything thrown at them? Thanks in advance Stu
  5. Thanks for your input - all has been solved. First up I have to admit I didn't even open the engine bay and the only work I had done on it was to upgrade the G3 firmware. Â I had a discussion with the owner and apparently the sporadic idle did occur with the original G3 setup after all - it must have just been a fluke with the right engine temp/witchcraft etc when he dropped the car over and the brief time I heard it running that it was ok. Â On closer inspections the PCV vac line had been replaced with a section of hose that was far too soft and it was sucking in then releasing with the idle fluctuations which of course wasn't helping. Â This remedied and the idle improved although still had issues. Â It almost felt like a slight miss I took the plugs out and noted the gap was 0.25mm!! I re-gapped them and the idle felt alot stronger. Â I few minutes mucking around with the base position table and the idle control settings and I had closed loop working perfectly. Â Funny how small stuff can cause such and annoying issue. Â Road tuned today and its driving very nicely. Â Spent a bit of time today working on the cold start and you would swear its as good as if not better than factory cold start now. Cheers Stu
  6. Hi guys, I'm having a bit of trouble getting idle speed controI to work nicely on a couple of blacktop 4age engines I'm currently working on. One is running a G4 storm and the other is a G3 upgraded to G4 firmware. Both are running the stock inlet manifold with the factory 3 wire idle control solenoid and have the same symptoms. I can get the idle up to work nicely when the engine is cold/warming up with raised idle rpm, but when the engine is hot I can't get the idle to stabilize and I'm experiencing fluctuations in the idle. In the case of the G3 upgraded car, when it was running as a G3 the idle was fine so I have copied the idle settings over to the G4 software but can't seem to get the idle to stabilise. Originally it was running open loop so I did try closed loop but scratching my head a bit as the idle seems to slowly increase then drop back, stumble then regain. Any pointers? Thanks Stu
  7. Hey all, Can my Linkplus G1 be setup to run staged injection? I've got a 4cyl engine and the ecu has 8 injector drives so wondering if there is a way to set it up to run staged injection. Cheers Stu
  8. I've also noticed the same thing happens when trying to change the master fuel. It keeps reverting back to 12 every time I change it. Any ideas?
  9. I've installed a G3 into a EP82 GT Starlet and can't get the thing to start. When setting the triggers on the link there seems to be a problem where when I set the tooth count to 24, store, then click anywhere else the tooth count resets to 0. I've tried using both the latest and previous versions of the PC Link software but the problem still exists. I've double checked the triggers are around the right way, and it still keeps changing back to 0. The other issue is that when I crank it over, it start building trigger errors. Really lost and need to get this thing started. Can anyone urgently help?
  10. Do you have a guide or manual to setting Antilag up when using a Linkplus G1? My G1 doesn't have the last firmware so is missing some of the options in the online manual. I am using Mode2 with a air bypass solinoid and have tried playing around with the settings without too much success. Cheers Stu
