Grant Baker got a reaction from AbbeyMS in Multiple Target Lambda Tables
Would it be possible to add additional Lambda tables in G4X?
For example, with a map switch we would like to alter target Lambda, Fuel Table, Ignition Table and Boost tables.

The Lambda Overlay table will be switchable by a selectable input in the next release if that helps

Abbey Motorsport would be your best bet by far...

They operate effectively just like a two wire solenoid, there is just a solidstate driver built-in. Some Subarus and Toyotas use the same type of valve.
A single low side drive aux, 0%DC = closed, 100% DC = fully open.

Grant Baker got a reaction from mapper in Export Function for settings and setups etc.
I agree with this....
So the ability to import/export whole sections of the "tree", like Gear Shift Control, Lambda Control, etc

Grant Baker reacted to Adamw in G4+ Thunder Custom CAN Outputs to AIM PDM 32
My primary role at Link is engineering and I prefer to keep distractions from my primary work to a minimum, so for this reason most of the help I give here on the forum is done in my own time outside of work hours.
Im always happy to help fellow Link users and dealers with Link ECU's and also help with interfacing Link ECU's with 3rd party devices when I have the correct information or experience to offer. However, it is not really my job to completely configure a 3rd party PDM device for you, Im happy to help configure the Link ECU side (which is already done) and can help with sending the keypad buttons to the ecu once you have everything else in the PDM configured and working - that means all inputs and outputs fully assigned and all logic programed so that I can get a feel for what finally needs sending over CAN. Usually there is very little sent from the PDM to the ECU - maybe a buton or two.
There are two other user's PDM32 config files attached earlier in this thread that you maybe able to look at for guidance to see how things are done, but if you need help setting up the core PDM functionality your first line of support should be from the Aim dealer that sold it to you, it is part of their contract to support you and they are meant to have the training and knowledge. I have absolutely zero realife experience with the Aim PDM's so for most questions you ask I need to spend time researching or testing it myself in their software, it is not efficient for me to support you like that.
For clarity, just in case my wording above comes across rude, Im not upset or trying to discourage you, Im still willing to help you here on the forum however I can when you need it and I still want to see you get to the end of the project with a satisfactory result, just I cant be spending my nights on teamviewer doing the hard work for you...

Grant Baker reacted to Smarttech in None start after 2 weeks in my garage
Issue found to be a broken wire in the back of the Toucan display plug. Despite the screen saying it wasn't immobilised, the wire that would switch this was the one that had broken off the plug pin

Grant Baker reacted to Adamw in fuel temp sensor for corrections
Use modelled fuel equation and both fuel denisty change and the fuel charge cooling effect change due to fuel temperature will be taken care of in the model.

Ideally 2x rear and 1x front yes.
A basic system will work fine with 1x rear and 1x front

Yes - that will be fine.

Grant Baker got a reaction from MagicMike in Knock Sensor 10mm
Thanks,
I drilled a sensor today and tried it before and after. No difference at all when using a 10-8mm stud and 8mm hole, or using an M10 bolt and drilled sensor.
Same knock levels, same background noise etc etc.

Grant Baker got a reaction from mapper in Track-display logging with G-force sensor
There is a limit to the amount of data the dash will receive and we have reached the limit!

Grant Baker got a reaction from Shedley in Closed Loop fuel trims
Has this been confirmed as correct?
Also, I agree with Mark (AbbeyMS) that we need the ability to alter +/- Fuelling separately...
There are some really basic ECUs out there that offer different +/- trims...

Grant Baker reacted to Adamw in VVTI position hunting
The proportional for the 1JZ vvt mode is 6.0 when set to default PID mode. This works ok for most 1J/2J's but I have seen a couple recently need lower P. I dont know if it is related to wear of the hardware, oil viscosity/pressure, or some other variable.

Grant Baker got a reaction from Kazu in 1991 R32 GTR - No spark, ECU disconnects
This is a REALLY common issue. Every single S15 plugin and 90% of GTR Plugins have this problem.
We get round it in one of 2 ways -
1) use the power from pin 45 to fire a relay which has battery power supplying pins 49/59
2) just use pin 45 to connect to pin 49/59.
Never a problem on OEM ECUs but is on plugins. I have reported this and it is being looked into by Dave@Link in the UK.

Grant Baker got a reaction from MagicMike in Injector and Ignition Status in Runtimes
Hi
It would be useful in the Triggers tab in Runtime Values to show whether the Ignition and Injection outputs are firing.
For example -
Ignition 1 - Not Active / Attempting to Start / Running
Injector 1 - Pre-crank Prime / Not active / Attempting to start / Running

Grant Baker got a reaction from Davidv in Easy DI Function Search.
Hi,
Just an idea... It would be great if there was a way of searching for what a DI controls.
For example, you have a DI x set to activate Boost. You may want it to do other things and have it activating a less agressive traction control, alternative fuel map etc.
A simple "Search" for DI x shows all the things that DI x is assigned to?

I've set this up on 2 cars now and it works fine Tim.
Done it exactly as Adam says, but I used Can DI8

Very true.
Cost me quite a bit of time this!

Grant Baker reacted to mapper in EVO 4-8 plug in oddity
Would be good if you can pack a additional paper to the ECU package, to get sure customers are aware. Because such things means always diagnosis time for us tuners which nobody want pay for. Think is a much easier task from your side to pack a letter to the ECU, which descrips the situations that the pinout will be updated only on the next firmware release.

Did this change ever get looked into? Maybe we will see it on the next firmware upgrade?
