Hi, Decided to take the car in for tuning, the question is for a road car and only road, what is the best  peramaters to use. TPS --- MAP or TPS + MAP on a Link Plus. I want drive ability, good idle, and resonable economy.Â

Hi, Does the ECU give a voltage signal out to the temp sensor , or is there voltage at the plug of the temp sensor.

Have fitted new stepper motor and this only steps closed. Have rechecked wiring. Now have taken ECU out and looked at motherboard. Notice that there is a series of resistors that are burnt starting at R89, R90 and R88 and possibly R91. What do these resistors control as appears to be where the stepper motor board is plugged in???? Could this be causing my problems and shall I return ECU for further investigation. Nick

Hi again, Replaced stepper motor with new unit, still only steps closed and brings engine idle down to 300 to 400 RPM. Nick.

Hi guys, Me again, I did all the testing you suggested and found nothing. So I got the stepper and stepped it to the wide open position and fitted it back on, I didn't plug the plug for the electrics and started the engine it started, it come up in RPM, I also set the idle RPM on the hand controler to 300 RPM, I then pluged the plug in and whatched the plugger on the stepper motor through one of the holes in stepper housing, as soon as I plugged it in the stepper tryed to bring the idle down to the set RPM, cool, turned it off reset the RPM to 900 and ran the motor with no results the motor stayed at 300 RPM, so I changed the direction of the stepper no change I then put the Idle up to 1200 RPM no change, also change the direction on the stepper again with NO results. It dosen,t seem to make sense can one of the winding on the stepper be reversed as in direction of currant flow, but in saying that I'm shure that it was working before. The stepper is off a commador V6 and is a 4 wire. Thanks, Nick.

Hi all, Still can't get stepper working. does air temp,water temp tell ECU what to do and control the stepper. On the hand held I have noticed sync error with random numbers, also cyl = y sync = y which is correct, but every now then sync=y at random times I get a NO showing up in split second its gone but its there. I also took the stepper out and stepped the stepper motor to the open position so I could get Idle to no effect I still can't get an idle. Â

Hi, Should the IAT be placed beforeor after the throtle body. , I only have 2 vacum points. I have a stepper motor in 1 which I plan to tap for the Map. I plan to put the IAT in the other.

Hi all, Thanks for your offer of a TPS, I found one locally. I have fitted it and I have found that it changed the master fuel from 110 to 95 is that normal or dose it show that the TPS was failing when fitted becauce it was second hand in the first place. The prodlem I have always had, is at light throttle at 100,110 Kph I get a lite cough which is annoying, come to think of it it's there any time there is light throttle. I was woundering if, seeing I'am running with lamda on if I change the default setting 10=100 0n the TPS to 10-say 285 will it give it a finer point of tune as it gives the link Plus more rows to chose from at that light throtle. I am having trouble finding a replacement TPS for the GT40, I used a TPS out of a Ford capri or a Sierra it has a part number on it but I can't find it 85TF-98989-AB, 9m12c and every one has moved It has a drive in it that looks like a D. Help Nick

Hi, I was talking to some tuning guys and they used a term that I hadn't herd before when talking about map and tps tuning. They used it as an every daything which was, when I tune I over lay the map and tps. can you explain what they mean and how do you use it and do it. Thanks, Nick.

motor craft sub board The reference to this board, dose it cover all sync reference needs and do you have to check all sync pulse references weather or not you have this board. Nick.

link plus- Hi,If prim temp is zero is it switched off, and what would a good value be to start with as there is no primary values put in to system. Nick
