  1. In the installation manual it recommends that applications employ a suppressor capacitor (0.5 - 3uF). I plan to use a points condensor as in the manual it says it's suitable. Is it necessary for a race car with inductive ignition?
  2. Thanks! Manually was recommended in the post Using 2 wheel speed sensors, 1 on front and 1 on rear (drag application) Can I use the 2 spare wheel speed inputs for this?  How come there are two slip% parameters when setting up logging, why are there two and what's the difference?  Sorry I don't have the ecu fully wired in, just setting it up
  3. Is the a way where I can log the engine rpm and input shaft rpm together to measure convertor or clutch slip%, similar to tyre slip% for undriven and driven wheels? Thanks in advance
  4. Was wondering if I can connect the CAN outlet of my Link ecu to Motec C125 dash display using the 'CAN ECU to display loom' seen below http://www.motec.com.au/c125raceloggingkit/c125raceloggingkitaccessories/ Cable looks different to the CAN link use? If I can't use that cable can you recommend a cable? Thanks in advance

    Injector Ballast

Manufacturer has said that the recommended amps to open injector is 5 amps at 12volts Do you recommend a smaller resistor to achieve the required amps, since 2.2ohm ballast resistor achieves 4.175 amps at 16.5V?

    Injector Ballast

Good answer, will check with the manufacturer What about ballast resistor packs, does Link sell these?

    Injector Ballast

What's the part no. for the ballast resistor and what's the resistance? 16V lithium battery but has more than 16V when fully charged Prefer to wiring resistor in neatly Something like this, need to know the resistance though http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-22698-05U10-OEM-Injector-Drop-Resistor-Pack-RB26DETT-GTR-R32-R33-R34-/271526675938?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f384045e2#ht_140wt_922
  8. Hi, I have a 1.8 ohm fuel injector and 16.5-16.7V battery In the G4 installation manual it says to use a 2.2 ohm ballast resistor for injectors 0-2 ohm I have 4 injectors and will be using 4 injector drivers To figure out the injector current draw I did, 16.7/(1.8+2.2) = 4.175 amps Current seems too high and the recommendation in the G4 installation manual seems to low at 2.2 ohm What is an expectable injector driver amperage I should be aiming for?  Also can anyway recommend a fuel injector ballast resistor package or box - I know haltech sell one and many oem like WRX, RX7-8 and many Nissan models come with standard from factory Anyway know what resistance they are?  Thanks in advance

    Knock options

So the bosch is a lot more versatile and the factory knock are specific to application Both are good Thanks so much for your help

    Knock options

Based on what test results did the bosch knock sensor out perform other sensors, say the EVO and WRX where in the PClink help files 'Suggested Knock Frequency Settings' you state 13kHz for the EVO and WRX and for the bosch 6kHz? Basically what the differences between a good knock sensor and a not so good knock sensor? They are both just a knock sensor, all work the same in principle, just like a temp and pressure sensor. What really matters is the software and how efficiently and reliably it processes the inputs.

    Knock options

What's the difference between the RX7 sensor and the 'bosch' sensor? Does one work better than the other?
  12. Anybody mount this sensor in their vehicle? Can it be done and if so how do you go about setting? Â

    Knock options

Sounds good! Do I need a specific bosch knock sensor, which sensor is best for this application?

    PClink gauges

Oh that's disappointing to hear....they look appealing Would it be too much trouble to add it as an option to the next PClink update? I'm sure there are others who would agree with me that they look good faded and with the header backgrounds coloured Just a suggestion

    PClink gauges

Can't seem to find how to change the colour scheme of my digital gauges from the scheme on the bottom left corner to the digital gauges on the top right In the how to use PClink youtube video the gauges automatically configure with the highlighted headings and fading, but mine don't and can't seem to figure out why Any ideas? I've got the latest PClink software Â

    Knock options

Simon, It's a G4 xtreme Just weighing up my options, what can I do, btw it's a 13B engine

    Knock options

My understanding is that one requires a bosch knock sensor (or similar) and the knockblock and set ecu settings to ON-DI Knk Interface? So what is the ON-Knk Internal knock setting in the ecu and what is required to get it to work? What configuration is best, easiest to setup for reading knock? Thanks!
  18. Just to clarify, Push the tip of the metal pin into the connector and then pull the wire connected to the pin from the other side of the connector? Thanks!
  19. Does anyone have any idea on how to removal the pin/contact from connector to the ecu? Looking to discard the unused wires Thanks in advance
  20. Fredrik Thanks will do when it gets going Still looking at my options Got 4D igntion map for 1st and 2nd gear to reduce timing 2 boost tables, boost on the start and boost settings for the actual run for each gear Got plenty of additional speed and travel sensors for logging Should be fun  Stevie Timing is mostly used but so many things can happen between these points that would make your run inconsistent Timer switching would require dual switches, one for the clutch and a secondary switch GPS would be great where you're able to tune to specific sections of the track. Would be expensive for the sensor and can the link facilitate a GPS sensor?Â
  21. Fredrik, Can't use traction control here in Australia. That's the regulation ANDRA has placed I plan to run a wheelspeed sensor on one of the rear wheels instead of driveshaft speed, as I believe I can utilise this input for more functions Probably have boost control based on gear instead of km/h, would be more consistant I'm noticing there are lots of ways to do this Would love more boost tables instead of 3 max, got one dedicated to just the launch Appreciate your input  Â
  22. Looking to vary boost pressures down a drag strip Most use the timed approach but I'd like to have the boost vary based on driveshaft rpm or wheel speed/rpm I have the driveshaft input rpm set as DI 5 and while setting the 'wastegate %DC1' table x=rpm and y=speed DI 5, the speed DI 5 would go to a maximum of 400. What units are these rpm or km/h? Any ideas on the best way to set this up or an alternative method to vary boost pressures down a drag strip?  Thanks in advance Paul
