  1. Hi, I have the same issue with my link WRXLink G3 running the G4 firmware. 4.9.9.1784. Car runs fine, at least I havent noticed any problems. I have a Subaru 2002 WRX. Stefan
  2. I should give you some information about my car. Its a 2002 WRX which has a Denso, 5K 22611AH570, 112200-4420 12V. I couldnt tell you whether it is a Japanese import or an Australian delivered vehicle. All factory sensors.
  3. Simon, Im stuck and I could use some help please. I purchased the link board today and it is a WRXLink G3 Subaru V7-9 plugin PCBV1.7. I read the manual you linked above, downloaded the software and installed it including the drivers on my Windows Xp partition. The com port is automatically assigned and I can select it from pclink 3.4 connection settings window. I plug the ecu into my car, I set the key to on position and try to connect to the ecu but I get an connection error message so I did the same on the windows 8 partition and I had no luck their either. I changed the the ECU from Option 2 to option 1 using the jumpers and tried again but no go. I cannot not even tell whether the board is powering up. I hope I havent spent all that money on a dud unit. The unit came with the usb cable, display link connector and the xs-connector which was a nice surprise. Regardless of which jumper setting is selected the fuel pump does not prime but I can crank the engine. What can I do to help diagnose the problem? Is their away to bench test it? Any help is appreciated. Regards, Stefan
  4. Hello, I found a link G3 plugin for V7-9 WRX and I was wondering if the ECU can accept additional external sensors? Will I be able to fit an IAT & a MAP sensors in addition to the standard sensors on my 2002 WRX? If so, how do I do that? I found some articles that maybe relevant but the links dont work. Regards, Stefan
  5. Thanks Simon. Yes the peak and hold is a hardware difference, I forgot about that. It seems to be better to get a vipec over the link. The link, even when fully upgraded will be more expensive and not as good as the vipec. HPA course will be good for either ECU. Thanks for the quick reply, you've made it a little easier for me to decide which one to get.
  6. Hello, I've been looking at Link & Vipec ECUs and they appear to be identical in there hardware specifications. It appears that the only difference is the firmware and software application. The manuals are pretty much the same too. Whats to stop someone from flashing the link storm or extreme with the vipec i44 & i88 firmware to unlock the features? Regards, Stefan
