  1. Hi there, Here's an area you could look at... It appears that 4 degrees of timing is being pulled all the time due to incorrect knock detection. The Knock target table is using AP, whereas your AP is stuck at zero (maybe you don't have drive by wire?). I think this should use TP (not AP). Hope that helps?
  2. I think turning idle ign control OFF is a good starting point. I also think your idle ignition table is back to front... The timing should increase towards the right... (see extract from help file)...

  5. Thanks for the feedback Adam, much appreciated. I did see the pic you mentioned and also saw the HPA webinar explaining about it which was very good. It took me a while to understand the various terms, hence I produced my pic to aid my understanding.   6. Hello tuners and Link.......... After setting up the Advanced Launch Control tuning parameters on my Subaru, I came up with the following picture to help me understand what's what! Not saying it's better than the Link help file, but it helped me! Feel free to criticise if I have misinterpreted anything!!

    Closed loop lambda

    As far as I can see, the ECU is trying to add fuel, but I'm not sure what's making it go lean?
  8. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has laggy software as I posted a comment a while ago about my issues... my laptop is pretty high spec and came with cortana. When switching this feature off, PCLink performance issues went away! I have not exhaustively proven this theory, but my laptop has been fine since... Ref:
  9. Dave, I initially thought that, but it is logged. See below... It's a bit strange though, if you type Batt in the parameter list, it doesn't appear as you'd expect! However, if you click on Batt Voltage, it's there! I can't explain that.......
  10. I would use a volt meter to measure the battery voltage (at the battery terminals) first. This should be around 12 V with the engine off and no electrical loads. Then start the engine and check that it goes up to around 14.3 V (as part of your log shows). This will narrow down where the problem is very quickly. Hope that helps...

    Logging status

    Hi, I've been working on a custom display and found that the ECU Logging status doesn't behave as I expected. When the memory is full, the logging starts overwriting the oldest data, but the logging status does not change state (from 1 to 3) to reflect this. Please can anyone enlighten me?
  12. I've also had a look, and have some comments in addition to Adam's... Would it benefit from tuning the wastegate table in open loop so that the control system has less corrections to do?

    Cortana

    Yes, the car was completely normal during this. Cortana comes with Windows 10. A quote from google... One of the standout new features found in Windows 10 is the addition of Cortana. For those unfamiliar, Cortana is a voice-activated personal assistant. Think of it as Siri, but for Windows. You can use it to get weather forecasts, set reminders, tell you jokes, send email, find files, search the Internet and so on. I haven't switched cortana back on to verify that the problem returns, guess I should for completeness...

    Has anyone experienced problems with data logging freezing/stuttering? Picture below showing what I mean (no activity either side of cursor). In my case, switching off cortana fixed the problem... (who wants cortana anyway?)
  16. Clint, how do you get EGT? Is this using the heater temperature if it goes above the regulation temperature of 780 C?
  17. Clint, you're a star, thanks for your help. The more I learn, the more I realise I don't know! With regards the overrun fuel cut, I use the filters on Mixture map to filter out any samples when this was active. I guess you don't approve of that method from what you say? Do you think I should keep 'IAT fuel trim' active during tuning (but all other corrections off)? As I see it, I need to compensate for inlet temps otherwise the tune will be wrong when the weather warms up? I always use V-Power or Momentum, so should I change my stoic value to 14.5, or keep it at 14.7 to cater for any fuel? Sorry for all the questions! Cheers Tim
  18. Clint, I'm confused... My fuel table uses MGP (to compensate for altitude effects) ? My Lambda target table uses MAP. I'm not sure what you are suggesting when you say: More getting the axis correct in revs and pressure, weather you use MAP or MGP or PSI makes no difference as both are only a math calculation of the raw ADC. My target table does not have many cells (it's not a complex map). It was my assumption that the ECU would interpolate the X axis as required anyway. Please could you expand on what you are suggesting? Cheers Tim

  21. Hi, I have been trying to refine the fuelling on my Subaru Impreza STI 2.5. Please can I have some feedback on a couple of questions?... 1. Using Mixture Map to tune it, my fuel table looks quite spiky, despite using lots of samples. I've seen other posts where the table looks much smoother, should mine look smoother? 2. During cruise, Lambda is steady, but on a 'pull', I can't get it much better than shown, is this good enough or should it be better? Thanks in advance. Tune and log attached...   23. One thought, are you able to reload the old 'tune' to prove the problem can be reversed?
  24. An "electronic valve controller", sorry I never realised that. In that case, I guess you wouldn't want the Link ECU doing closed loop aswell. My mistake. Looking at your latest log, despite the oscillations they look pretty small in amplitude (it's zoomed in quite a lot). Bit stuck on this I'm afraid, apart from the fuelling on acceleration looking too rich. I could have helped with setting up Link boost control, but I don't think that's your problem now.
  25. I'm not sure what you mean by "EVC" ? I believe that you're basically running open loop, i.e. from the wastegate table. However, the Boost Mode is set to 'closed loop'. I don't think this is what's causing your "engine hesitation" problem, but it would be a good refinement to carry out at some point. From Impreza STI, 2.5 (2007), here's Target boost table: I think the first thing to tackle is the fuelling IMHO....
