    3sgte Idles lean

Hi all. Below you will find a log of the situation I'm dealing with as well as my cal. In VE mode, I'm having to throw values close to 100 to get the car to idle around stoich. If it does idle at stoich, it'll hangout there for a second and then go very lean. I'm running Bosch Ev14 1000cc injectors with my oem resistor pack bypassed. Pump is a walboro 450 fed through -6 hose. Is a massive air leak or something causing this? I'm really at a loss. I'm going to try and find a way to do an air leak test here without a compressor. Thanks Daniel_map_startup.pclr lean log.llg

The triggers themselves were setup correctly ( as they were just copied over from the mr2 base map that ran my car ). It was an offset issue. I had to physically move the distributor so that with zero trigger offset and timing locked to 10 BTDC, The timing mark would line up with 10 BTDC on the crank. THEN I had bump the trigger offset to 360 and it fired right up. Sounds healthier than ever.

The issue ended up being a trigger issue. Thanks a lot for everyone's help! I've learned a lot from this process. She's running and running quite smoothly.

I thought I had this done when I had the car running on stock ignition but it wouldn't hurt to check. I'll do just that.

I'm really just starting to believe I have a timing issue. Anyone have any ideas on how to ensure I have the engine timing synced with the ecu properly?

I bumped up the filtering to 2. Confirmed all plugs were good and ran it. Here is a scope as well as a log of the same conditions. running_rough_log.llg trigger scope 1.llg

This is the factory unit. I'll bump up the filter and then check out that wiring.

Sure. I'll create one today. Here's is one that I made a few weeks ago while chasing this same issue. 5ace1f0d4f101_TriggerScopeLog2018-04-11104250am.llg

Adam, Those changes actually got it running! it still defiitely seems to be misfiring.. hard, but it stays running. I can't really figure out why it would be misfiring.. with a test, all coils and injectors are firing. More fuel? Here's a log. running_rough_log.llg

Much appreciated Adam. I'll try this out.

Thanks for this. This is my first attempt at tuning so I'm still learning a lot. I'm going to apply everything you've said and see what happens.

I previously had an issue where I could not get one of my injectors to fire... ( see here -> http://forums.linkecu.com/topic/8319-st185-pnp-injector-3-not-firing/?tab=comments#comment-55843 ). I swapped out to another ecu, solving that problem but now I'm running into an issue where I absolutely cannot get the car to run correctly. It runs for a few moments, very, VERY roughly.. as if it's misfiring, and then dies. If I give it any throttle, it'll run for a few moments more. I would also like to mention that when I set base timing, I was dead on 0 for trigger offset at 10BTDC. I've change the trigger offset by 360 because I was advised this was necessary to get the car to run with these smart coils. The injectors are Bosch Ev14. Part #0 280 158 040. I'm running genuine Toyota 1zz smart coils. I've verified no vacuum leaks. I've verified all coils fire via an ignition test I've verified all injectors fire via an ignition test. I have deleted my OEM injector resistor packs by tying all wires to that plug together ( this seems to be the way to do this. ) Compression test yields 180psi across all four and fuel is in the rail. Below is my map. I'm really looking for some insight here as I am truly struggling to get this car running. I really appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance. Daniel_map_final.pclr

St185 PNP Injector 3 not firing

Weird! It definitely did fire but I'll make that change and swap anything from 6 and then get back to you with results.

St185 PNP Injector 3 not firing

I tried that, with no luck unfortunately. Scott from Link US advised me to use inj4 as inj 3 and inj5 as inj 4. Fired right up. So I guess I'll just go that route.

This is brand new. Surely I should be able to use inj5 to drive my third injector?
