  1. I'm having a bit of trouble setting this, although I'm pretty sure I've got it. The timing marks on this engine are in a very awkward spot once you put it into an SW20 MR2 chassis. As I mentioned, I think I've got it, but I was curious as I've been reading all the 2gr related threads in this forum and it seems like different people all have a slightly different trigger offset at the same reference timing (usually of 10°, which is the hardest mark to see).

Now, shouldn't all 2gr engines have exactly the same trigger offset? Further to that idea, shouldn't they all have the same cam offset as well?

  2. With the 2gr in the SW20 chassis it is quite difficult to see the timing mark (which is at an angle towards the front of the car). When I set up mine, I had a timing gun held on with zip ties and a GoPro on a little stand, then I had the GoPro app on my phone to see what the camera was seeing to get the offset value. It was a bit awkward to set up, but it worked like a charm.

Also, I don't think your wiring is backwards, the polarity of the electronic throttle body motor is wired "backwards" from the factory. I'm not sure about your coils though, I'd have to double check mine.

  3. The electro-hydraulic power steering in the MR2 is independent of the engine control system, I didn't bother hooking it up to the Link in my installation. The PS system has it's own control logic system and will taper out with increased speed. Also, I did change one of the resistors on the tach for my 2gr swap, but if you do an output from the Link to the tach, I assume that would work fine, but can't confirm.

  4. Thanks Brad! I've solved it, although it might have just been because I'm an idiot. I swapped things around as you mentioned. I had the Inlet Right as the trigger since I had mixed up left/right, versus Bank1/2, which was what I was used to thinking about. Anyways, I swapped things as you recommended and I wasn't getting any signal from the inlet RH, so I checked continuity through from the sensor plug to the ECU  plugs and all were as expected, so I plugged it back in and it all worked. So, what I think happened is that I didn't push the sensor plug all the way in. I can use the excuse that one of the little tabs is cracked off, but really I should have known better to push it all the way in and confirm that it was locked in place.

Anyways, I'm well on my way now, all the cam offsets are set and working, now I just need to get my insurance, put it on the road and head down for a proper dyno tune!

  5. I'm having some trouble with setting the cam offset for my Fury install in my 2grfe swapped MR2. I've done the cam angle test and managed to get 3 of the 4 set. The one that I'm having trouble with is "Inlet Cam RH". I also use this as Trigger #2. I did do the cam angle test on this sensor as well, and when I input the offset I get "Error: 2nd Cam Pulse", and I don't know what to do with it. I can't find much info here in the forum, or in the help document.
