Plug in S13 Link High Side drivers

AEWON

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, been scouting the forums and just need a technical question clarified, I see there’s conflicting info on high side driving on some of the plug in ECU’s. I had intended on using  Ign 5 to Ign 7 on my S13 plug in link to 12v + switch some relays as the bussmann Relay box I have needs a positive trigger.

If these can’t be used, are there any outputs on this particular plug in board I could use? I no longer have A/C, it’s been converted to E-Throttle, so I have quite a few more Auxilary’s free.

Cheers

Aux 5-8 can drive high side, ignition drives can only drive low side when being used as an auxiliary.
In PCLink set the Driver Type to High Side.

On the S13 plugin:

  • Aux 5 is pin 113
  • Aux 6 is pin 25
  • Aux 7 is pin 32
  • Aux 8 is pin 33

Thanks for the reply, maybe I am not being clear enough.

Can I use any Auxiliary Outputs to "positive "  trigger a 12v relay?

Cheers

The help does only specify storm, xtreme and fury but I believe the plugins have the same hardware.
The section of the help manual is Wiring Information -> Output Wiring -> Auxiliary Output Wiring -> High Side Driving
There is more help information under G4+ Tuning Functions -> Auxiliary Outputs -> Wiring Auxiliary Outputs as well

Sorry for the confusion Aewon, Vaughan isnt quite right here.  Most of the Plug-ins dont have highside drive hardware on board (the only exception is some of the subarus and hondas).  The auxes do have a 1.5Kohm pull-up to 12V, so they will drive to 12V when "off", but they wont have enough grunt to drive a relay.
