RPM simulation to test CANBUS

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am installing a Thunder into a 350z and i need to test that a few of the can outputs are working. For most i can simulate these by wiring the sensor to inputs then moving it, or by using a trimpot, but i was wondering if anyone knew a way to simulate the RPM input?

Is there a way to force an RPM signal onto the pre-configured 350z CANBUS settings to test the gauge cluster?

Any help would be great!

As long as there is MAP and RPM and no fuel cuts active then the ECU will be sending out fuel consumption (vol per unit time), but I suspect the dash probably needs at least speed from the ABS and possibly other variables before it will be able to calculate fuel consumption per unit distance.
