Hi,

Is there the possibility to use a DI to dictate if the overrun fuel cut is on or off?

I have for example on DI 2 my high boost map, and I would like to turn off overrun fuel cut when DI 2 is on, but still keep it activated the low boost map.

thanks for your input!

Not the over-run fuel cut function directly but two ways you could achieve this:

  1. ORFC is disabled when antilag is enabled.  So you could enable antilag with DI2, but set antilag enable RPM to something like 20000RPM so it never activates, then it will just be used to turn ORFC on & off.
  2. You can turn off the native ORFC fuction and instead use a GP RPM limit.  Use a virtual aux on one axis, RPM on the other.  Set the activation conditions such as TP<0.5% and your DI2 switch in the VA.

setting the AL enabled RPM to 20000 and turning the DI on does indeed shows status "AL armed, under 20000rpm", but CLL is still running, this was tested at idle.

edit: neither by normal drive with AL on and -20° trim

I'm gonna try that too. thanks.

another question, I am struggling alot to tune the fuel on my top row (13-20 KPa MAP, closed throttle, coasting). I cannot get a replicable lambda/afr there. I've tried injector timing from 400 to 270°, tried target lambda from 0.9 to 1.0, tried igntion angle from 34 to 8° (btdc).

every single time there is no corelation in the result. I can add 10% fuel (VE) and get leaner lambda, then retry and get 5% richer.

Anything I didn't thing about in this special area? (ej20k, standard timing on the cams, stock cams)

13-20kpa is over-run rather than coasting.  Lambda is irrelevant in that area, you have very unstable combustion due to so little oxygen in the chamber.  You are probably also working in a non-linear region of Injector PW so that gives you even less relationship to commanded fuel.

I'm struggling getting the tip-in/accel enrichment right in that area  (feathering the gas 1-2% tps) and a small stet to 10-15% tps would jerk hard, and I thought the initial problem was that the base lambda i'm running in that region is bad.

next question regarding flex fuel.

On another car, I've got a ecumaster flexfuel sensor (looks like its a continental one according to whats writen on it).

But I cannot get the ecu to read ethanol content. I always get "error" as ethanol sensor status.

its been wired like that:

red has +12v when ignition is on, black is chassis ground and white is signal on DI2 from G4+ atom, continuity on each wire is checked.

did I miss something on the software side?

Hey,

Two more addition to the list.

-What can cause wastegate flutter? stock EJ205 with TD05, openloop boost control with fixed duty, brand new pierburg 7.01024.02.0 solenoid.

When I'm giving it the beans in 4th gear, MAP oscillate around, lets say it should be 1.15 bar from 3750 up, but I am getting a wavy pressure with 0.1bar +/-. For me there is no reason for that as every parameter is fixed . I tested solenoid frequencies from 20 up to 45 hz with no change in that behaviour.

There are no apparent boost leaks (nothing to be heard) but no smoke tester available .

-On a subaru classic v6 (same car as point 1), it has a stepper motor as idle control I believe (6 wires iacv). I acquired a storm+ and I am wondering how the hold on power is wired on the stock harness. What is the hold power pinout on the plugin version for example? Is it aux-inj 6? I cannot seem to find the corresponding pin on the harness in the manual (http://linkecu.com/documentation/WRX6+.pdf or http://linkecu.com/documentation/WRX6X.pdf)

So That I can make my new adapter including this function and allow the iacv to reset before shutting down ecu

Cheers

What happens if you unplug the boost solenoid?

It is all done with solidstate electronics on the adapter board.  But below would be effectively how it worked if you used a relay:

  • 2 weeks later...

If the ignition switch is now controled by a hand switch and not the key anymore, does it allow to get rid of the ecu hold power function?

if I switch the DI off, then it cuts ignition and fuel, engine stops, but ecu still have power because the key is on further position.

Does the ECU initiate directly the stepper motor reset after engine stop? (my00 impreza)

edit: is there a way to make a rotary switch for ALS to interpolate between 2 tables? only found switching between two tables.
