Ari-Pekka Keskinen
Not getting the damn tacho work. Tacho that i have in the turbo timer (hks) is working when the singnal comes from the g4 out put. The cars own tacho jumps erraticly when accellerating. Tryed getting the singnal from g4 didint work at all. I have the link 2*2 channel wasted spark igniter. From ther the tacho jumps up and down. Do i need some parts or what? Simon
How is the current tacho being driven? Was it off a single coil? Chances are the tacho might need to be modified to suit a low level signal.
Simon
We normally refer people to a specialist instrumentation company. An option that might also work would be to use a Mitsubishi tach adapter that was used on the early VR4 (4g63 engine). This device takes the two coil negative signals and combines then into one to drive the tacho.
Ari-Pekka Keskinen
Ok. What type of signal is the g4 giving out? 0-5v ? Just wonderig couse the turbo timers tacho is working from that signal and it was working out from the cars original system. Is it some sort of digital analog thing? Simon
The one from the ECU is a 0-12v signal with one pulse per firing event. Its duty cycle is adjustable via PC Link.
