Which knock sensor setup - 98 wrx - plugin

Hi all

Got my rex running again, ready for dyno/street/track tuning, 

So i open up the box for my knocklink, read the instructions,

then working out the install  & intergation into the ecu is no worries, its the fine tuning the knocklink as a very novice tuner worries me. I know what pinging, but i am not confinident that my ears will know what there listening for, 

How loud does it come thru the headphones?

Looking at the Knocklink G4 & its self calibration, this looks like a better way to go for the novice.

Note the car will be being tuned by an actually tuner, but i need to know what i am doing  , for track days, cant bring the tuner everywhere, what to be able to check the log after each session
