Rod Smart
Hi Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. I'd like to learn how to map a dizzy, I have the PC link software, and I know how to map fuel and switch outputs, but how do I map a dizzy to specific curves or custom curve a dizzy? Jurgen Biggelaar
Hi Rod. This sort of thing is usually done with the ignition map, so just treat is as though you would be tuning a multicoil type application. With the dizzy however, there will be a mechanical limitation. If you try and advance or retard the timing too much, you could end up with cross fire if the adv/ret is too close to the next dizzy post. It's very dizzy dependant, and you would certainly know when you go too far one way or the other. Do I understand your question correctly? Rod Smart
I have Nissan B13 coil pack set-up, and am running twin trigger set-up on a Toyota 4A-GE engine, but I'd like to learn how to setup/tune the ignition maps in the ECU, I know how to do the fuel mapping
Simon
To do this efectivly you will need a dyno. You tend to tune ignition to make the best torque whilst avoiding det. You can have the situation of excessive advance but no det just reduced power. This is where tuners earn there money.
Rod Smart
I have access to a dyno, just have to hook it up and get it working again, this is why I'd like to know
