Grant Baker Posted September 23, 2015 Report Share Posted September 23, 2015 Hi,Historically, we have been able to open G4 PCL files in G4+ software when upgrading ECUs...Today I've gone to swap a customer out to a G4+ from his G4 and I can't open the old PCL file in the new software... Says it's "too old".Downloaded an old version of Link G4+ and file wouldn't even open in that!So do I really have to start again from scratch?Plan B is just to copy all of the numbers over, but that's not a 2 minute job! Dave Kriedeman Posted September 23, 2015 Report Share Posted September 23, 2015 Hi Grant,can you explain how you are doing this again.Sorry my brain isn't functioning correctly today, bit SLOOOOOOOOWWWWW.So have you installed the new G4+ ECU into the car, then opened the old G4 software select the old PCL file from the G4 and press F4 to download into the new G4+.RegardsDave. Simon Posted September 25, 2015 Report Share Posted September 25, 2015 Hi Guys You can only open a G4 file in G4+ software if you are online with a G4+ ECU.If you are offline it will not open.The Copy and paste will however work offline.So if you want to bring a G4 or V series map over on to a G4+ the only thing you need to do is be able to power up an ECU and have it live while the map loads.
