E92 N54 setup

Currently talking with a good friend of mine from DOC Race and really interested in producing a PNP kit using a Extreme system and a GDI driver.

Any thoughts about this? Our biggest issue is getting the CAN system to communicate properly and run all the dash.

One option may be to share the inputs between the factory ECU and the Link. Then have the Link control the outputs directly (injectors via GDI box). This way the factory CAN system would hopefully keep working. There can be some complications with a piggyback install like this, the factory ECU may not like to share, or may go into a fault mode. Unfortunately the only way to know would be trying it out, or finding someone else who has done it before. Something else that would need to be tested/researched is what the inputs to the GDI unit need to look like.

I think the N54 engine uses piezzo injector type which are older generations. The N55 uses solenoid type injectors.
It ouwld be worthwhile to ask if the LINK GDI can control the piezzo type sine they are a whole new kettle of fish.
