Scott Posted May 27, 2016 Report Share Posted May 27, 2016 Feedback I've had is that the frequency of knock on a rotary engine is around 3.5 kHz, the lowest filter you can select on our ECU is 4 kHz, so this will be the one to use. You want to adjust the gain level of the knock control to a point where the maximum levels on the Knk Level Cyl X' are seeing around 600. Do this when you know the engine is not knocking. You will now be able to see what the normal level of engine noise is at various points of engine speed and load, you can use this data to fill in your 'Knock Target' table. When the level detected by the ECU exceeds the level you have entered in the table the ECU will retard the ignition timing as per the way you have set it up.
