G4RX wiring aem smart coils, FFE hall trigger 3 wire

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have transplanted a 13B into my 72 super beetle.

The FFE trigger only has 3 wires and the general G4 instructions call for 4 wires. What is the correct way to connect them?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cool project, I'm envisioning a good power to weight ratio. I have a beetle, but stayed with a 1776cc type 1 engine.

Looking at the FFE website I think this will be the wiring for your sensor:

The wire colours look the same.

Trigger settings in the ECU will need to be Multi Tooth missing.

Set trigger 2 sync mode to none.

Wiring wise you will only be connecting to the trigger 1 input.

Thanks for the quick reply this should keep me moving along.

Simon - I have 0 experience with this, thanks again.

Scott - Yes that is exactly what I have.

And yes power to weight should be fun.  I  previously repowered this car with a 2.0 914 engine and it was a blast to drive.

I appreciate the help
