xAv
Hi, I would like to use a Bosh knock sensor instead of standard one. Best connection way should be : 1. Use OEM connection, means connect directly to OEM knock sensor wiring in engine bay ? or 2. Go directly to the ECU and connect via "extension loom" ? thanks in advance for your comments. tiago
Also, what would be the correct model for the Bosch sensor? Will this one be the correct for a Subaru (EJ20)?Bosch 65018
Adamw
Connect to the factory knock sensor wiring. Bosch 0 261 231 006 is a common wideband part number. tiago

gtihk
A Mercedes part number may be A 004 153 90 28 64. It may be cheaper in some areas.

In my case (WRX 5-6) my factory knock has only one wire and the new bosh knock sensor has 2. Should I rewire the bosh knock sensor to the extension loom to have the signal + ground or can I just use the factory connector plugging it to any pin or the new knock sensor? gtihk
I think you mainly use Factory wiring with the single knock wire to the Bosch which other side should be wired to any sensor ground.

I am looking to get a sensor too. I stumbled on this one, 0 261 231 045, would it do the job as well as the ref number you gave?
Adamw
It appears to be a wideband one so it will likely be fine. I have no personal experience with it.
