  1. Ah, Ok. I will start taking some logs and see if there is anything funny going on.
  2. Fair enough. The ones in the car now are new and are working fine. Next time if they stop working I will take a log and see if it tells me anything. Thanks again Adam.
  3. They don't give any reading at all. After taking them out they make a tiny rattle noise, so I assume the ceramic inside has died. I don't remember getting any specific error from them though.
  4. I have an issue where I am chewing through wide band sensors and I have had a bunch of suggestions that the start up could be delayed to prevent it. I think my Storm ECU has this function already, but I can't find if there is an adjustment in the software so I could delay it even further or make some other changes to make the sensors last longer. They are mounted in the exhaust either side at around a 45 degree angle from vertical so they can drain. Any other suggestions would be great. I have attached my current base map. Thanks, Jeff 1-23 map.pclr
  5. Ok. That makes more sense. Considering the APS and TPS are not that old, it makes much more sense that my wiring is dodgy somewhere. Fault finding may be the more difficult issue. I actually have a bunch of faults, but the temp faults I wasn't too worried about. The fact you mentioned that is could be a sensor ground has me thinking. As the ECU is in the middle of the car, the throttle is in the back and the pedal is forward, I am thinking it must be the sensor ground splice at the ECU. I will tackle that tomorrow and see how I go. Thanks mate
  6. I have been getting fault codes 70,76 and 77 and I have had the throttle drop out a few times now. I just cycle the key and I can keep going. I have a new APS to put in if I need to, but before I put it in, I just want to go through and recalibrate my current one, but for the life of me I can't find how to do it. I have gone into E throttle 1 and set it to On-setup but when I go to Electronic Throttle-> Accelerator position sensor, there is no AP Calibration option? Obviously I am doing something wrong, but I can't work it out. Any help would be great to sort out this throttle issue. Jeff
  7. Yeah, in this case it is 3 insulated wires. Thanks for that. I kind of thought that would be the case, but it is nice to have the confirmation.
  8. I am setting up my G4X Extreme on an Audi V8 and I am trying to wire in the factory knock sensors, but they have 3 wires and I can't work out what I connect the 3rd wire to? I have added a pic of the factory wiring diagram.
  9. It was a low error, I will reset the limit and let you know. Email sent. Thanks
  10. I cleared the initial codes I had and they didn't come back, so at this stage it looks like my sensor wiring is all working ok. First thing is it is asking me for an unlock code for my ECU. Also I put in all of the initial analog inputs, but I can't see where the Knock sensor input is? I have an e throttle that I set up on this car and the APS all seems to be working and calibrated nicely. The TPS when I move the throttle motor manually (it has a separate linkage that attaches to the ITB's) the value at idle reads at 3.6ish, and is very linear all the way to WOT and it hits 0.0 right at WOT and if I hold it there for a couple of seconds it gives me a code as well. I have tried adjusting the TPS sensor itself, but it seems to be at it's limit. Any suggestions there? Thanks mate
  11. I would not be the least surprised that I stuffed up pinning a sensor The 74 code came up as soon as I logged on to the ecu. I will clear the codes and let you know how I go. Thanks again.
  12. Fantastic. It is amazing how much better the ECU works with the grounds connected I now have fault codes 74, 23 and 26. I think I must have a sensor wired incorrectly, so I will start trouble shooting through them.
  13. Awesome I will go through and do some more checks and let you know how I go. Thanks mate
  14. Let me establish first that I am a complete beginner at all of this, but I have spent a long time wiring up my new engine build to the ECU and I have just tried to connect for the first time. First question is which is the tuning port and which is the serial port (I assume for dashes etc). My Thunder has one with a red rubber ring around it and one with black but the tuning cable fits into both and I can't find any documentation saying which is which? That said, I have tried connecting from both and have had no luck. I am in the process of trying to reinstall the latest software, but the on I was using was only downloaded a couple of months ago. I have checked that there is power coming to the 14v input on the ECU and the Green Ground Out has Ground (the black Grounds do not). F3 gave me the error, and I have gone to the Options/Connection. I tried changing the first option from Manual to Auto and on the main screen it just says 'searching'. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
