HI. I am looking at upgrading to a Link Thunder and have a couple of questions before I commit to buying it. We I be able to do the semi-sequential 'fudge' mentioned above. I cannot see a semi-sequential setting in PCLink G4+ but it does say "Note: This mode can also be used for semi-sequential injection" in the sequential setting. Can I run a coil on each spark plug and run two at a time the same as wasted spark. Will this ECU do everything that the Xtreme does. Thanks

Hi some good info there thanks. So it is set up semi-sequential INJ1-6? Also could I run two e-throttles with the G4 or would I need to upgrade to the thunder.

Thanks for that Adam. I understand the problem now.

No never got a base map. Still trying to nut out the setup. Looks like the Xtreme will only fire the injectors in groups of 6 which is not ideal. I was hoping to inject in groups of 2. There are enough channels to be able to do this. I will let you know how I get on if you like.

Thanks for that. Just to be clear I would set it to INJ1-6 and wire drive one to 1&12, drive two 9&4, drive three 5&8 etc and inject two cylinders at a time? It should fire in two groups 120 degrees apart every 720 degrees? In PCLink it is stated as: INJ1-6 - Drives 1 and 2 are used for injection, the rest (if any) are available as auxiliary outputs. But in the PCLink G4X program it is stated as: INJ1-6 - Drives 1 to 6 are used for injection, the rest (if any) are available as auxiliary outputs. Is this an error or is there a difference between the earlier and later drives? Thanks

Hi. I am just setting up a Link G4 Xtreme on my V12 engine and have a few questions about the group fire options. I am assuming I would need to use Multi point group injection. Is it possible to set it up to group fire 2 cylinders at a time? There are enough channels for this but I cannot see an option for it. Will I need to use INJ1-4 and inject 3 cylinders? or do I set it up for sequential injection and fire 2 injectors at a time? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for that. Just have a question on the initial configuration. I will be running 12 cylinder group fire two cylinders at a time and wasted spark. Do I set the initial configuration to 6 cylinder two stroke engine or 12 cylinder and have the firing order repeat itself over the 720 degrees of engine rotation? I have searched the forum and could not find an answer. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. How do I go about getting the CAN update? I live in NZ so not a problem to ship. I was thinking of fitting a 36-1 missing tooth trigger wheel on the crankshaft and running the injection and spark with that. Would that trigger wheel work and and would I need a cam wheel as well? I have a FAST optical plate in the distributor for ignition at the moment which I could use for the ignition but if I could get rid of the distributor it would free up some space in the engine Vee which I could use for the wasted spark coils. Also would like to fit a couple of wideband o2 sensors on the exhausts plus the usual MAP, inlet air temp etc sensors. My ignition/injection system has a lot of problems with it at the moment and I would rather spend the money on getting the Link system going.

Hi I have a G4 Xtreme which I am about to fit to a Jaguar V12 engine. I have read that this model can be upgraded to run a CAN bus. I have attached a photo of the links info. Is this possible and how much would it cost? Also is there any base maps available for a V12 engine? Thanks in advance.
