  1. I will give that a go, I honestly can't recall what is says so I will need to test. I know when I clear the faults the log is just a white screen then within 2 seconds the 3 faults have popped back. I will do some more playing
  2. Full log Log 17-05-22 4;47;35 pm.rar
  3. Log to work but I'm not sure is capturing everything. I'll do another log home with everything logged Log 17-05-22 7;54;34 am.rar
  4. Hi Adam, Yes you are right, I think I meant to say originally on the base map there was a map sensor in AN V2 which I do not have and have switched it off. I should have said fault AN V2 and AN V9 are switched off and are reporting low errors The cleared down faults are immediate to return once cleared every time without the car running etc. I do not have a log yet but I am going to take the car out for a drive today and will take the laptop and log the drive. The puzzle for me is these faults only happened after performing a factory reset and for the last 3 years have been fine. last night I decided to go back out after posting the first post and reset the ecu to a blank file, added the R53 CAN to get the gauges working and added a couple of sensors - not enough to drive but wanted to prove to myself that it is something in the file wrong and not the hardware or wiring - a blank file does not bring up the fault log so whatever is going on is in my map, also by adding my wideband to a blank file does not report a over volt error... I will log and we can go from there and I am sure it is simple but as I spent nearly an hour trying to find where the fault parameters hide I am sure I am missing something...
  5. I am about to change the Vipec out to a later link model but until I have time to map it I have a question regarding the fault settings. The ECU has always had a 75 & 76 error showing and I wanted to clear it or at least find the fault and make it go away (fix the car) The wiring loom has been changed since the fault showed and the throttle body has been changed. I took the approach of putting the ECU back to factory R53 base map which didn't clear those faults but added code 28, AN volt 7 above, code 14, An volt 2 below zero, and code 35, AN volt 9 below zero 2 is my map sensor and I have no idea why the ECU thinks there is a fault as logged data through the ECU and through an external scope never goes out of range. Fault settings set 0~5V 7 is my wideband again when off it sits at 5V as there is no fuel in being sensed so correct with fault settings error low 0 and error high 5v 9 is driving me insane as that is switched off and is not used but still shows an error The puzzle for me is I backed the settings up, saved them, factory reset the ECU loaded the file back and gained the three faults + the throttle, change the throttle peddle and all DBW faults have gone so it was a faulty peddle. Now very perplexed that I have 3 faults gained by resetting the ECU - I am sure I am missing a setting which became factory reset which has decided to throw up these faults - I know the best thing is to remove the ECU and replace it but I haven't the time to do it just this moment. Serial 12842 with firmware 4.10.2 V88 top board, Any ideas on what setting I have changed to enhance my error list would be appreciate. OR is it possible to switch the CAN reporting of errors off to make my MOT easier... 01012022.pcl
  6. I have the chrono and I can drive it from my CAN module on the desk and with a microcontroller. As there is no ability to offset on the vipec I am feeling very limited on what can be done and as the second hand sale is probably a few hundred off a new unit I may as well change - hopefully the G4X can drive my VAG COP this time round...
  7. Just purchased a G4X so when it is here I will get the information popped over to you and lets see what we can do. I have had a play with the software and what can I say it is so much better and more configurable
  8. I was being stupid, of course this is right, I was logging on other tools and mixed it up, not realising that one device was set to dec and the other hex... This will help As for upgrading it is a pain to have to upgrade and at this moment I have took a teensy with a CAN transceiver, taking the data in over other PID and then merging the CAN back to the chrono. Bit dirty but at the moment is works though I had to switch off the CAN frames as R53 and use the second channel. I will look at the options for changing as I would really like to use my COP I had wired for the car before I realised it wouldn't work...
  9. Hi Adam, Thanks for the response, yes sadly this is on my aging Vipec V series which runs the engine very well. I assume you will not let loose the firmware for people to change? Does have some very off CAN system for sure, when I set the PID to lets say 100 it outputs at 60?? I am not after help with that as I can sort it. I can provide the information for the chrono as that would be good to use considering the gauges are there. If I were to move to the G4X would I be able to take my vipec settings and transfer them over, I am happy to buy a new ECU but I don't want to go through all the mapping and set up again as it works well as it is but for sure it is ageing and it shows when I try and do simple tasks that can't be done... As for the CAN for chrono I am happy to share this data.
  10. Hi, I'm assuming the answer being no but let's try. Currently with the OEM CAN selected in the configuration the ecu provides enough information to run the dash features unless fitted with a chrono gauge where looking at the CAN capture is providing a 0 where it should be oil pressure this will be the same for the oil temp My thoughts are, ideally I'd like to be able to change the CAN database file to change the information output. I can find the file to modify so assume it's part of the firmware? Or is there a file to change? My assumption is the only fix is to turn the oem CAN stream off and use the second CAN output and configure the data to match what I need? Thank you
  11. Cheers Adam, Whist disappointed I unwired all the COPs and wired back in the stock coil system - then the newly build engine came to life and ran well. I will close the book on it from here but may visit again in the future when I have a little more time to play. What would be been great is if I could have set the system to wasted spark but use output 1&2 and not have it default over to 3&4 but it does not look like it will allow me to do that Next to try and understand the CAN1 output to the racedash - must say it looks a whole lot easier on the G4+ version than the Vipec...
  12. I've read again what you've said, are you stating I can't use the Audi red top cop I have with this ECU? Is there another option? I'm guessing not because I can't change it to be wasted spark with COP on the other channels?
  13. Thank you Adam, yes I'd looked but honestly missed it.
  14. Hi I am having some difficulties with setting up the ECU to run Audi R8 coils. I have been running the ECU for years and this change is just to move from the wasted spark system on the mini to direct injection. I have run all new wiring at the correct size for power and ground from the fuse box, there is a ground for the cylinder head and then finally the ECU interface is as follows; Pin 1: IGN 3 (Originally did coil pack 2&3) - Now cylinder 3 Pin 2: IGN 4 (Originally did coil pack 1&4) - Now cylinder 4 Pin 3: IGN 1 - Now cylinder 1 Pin 4: IGN 2 - Now cylinder 2 This is where my confusion starts; I have run the 10hz ignition test and can confirm all wiring has the correct 10hz and low resistance within the wiring, I have 12.5v+ available at the coils. When I turn the engine over I have albiet a weak spark on cylinders 3 & 4 and nothing on 1 & 2 - I am totally baffled as I would have expected if anything the original outputs which now supply cylinders 1 & 2 would be work and 3 & 4 would not Serial number 12842 V88 topboard - firmware 4.10.2 boot 1.4 With reference to the weak spark, is it expected that the vipec needs a booster for the output? I wouldn't have thought so because there is an igniter within the coil. Thank you - Richard
