    r34 not starting

Was a bad ground near the radiator water hose on the plenum. The wires fell out at the slightest touch, so recrimped them and good to go. Thanks

    r34 not starting

Hey guys, having trouble with my r34 not starting. Used to start well, however when it was hot it wouldnt start unless jump started. I moved the battery to the boot, bought a bigger correctly sized battery for it etc. Found a blown fuse and replaced it as well, which gave me some success. However a week on from then, it now doesnt start at all. Battery has been on charge and is full, i have checked voltage at lots of pins which stays above 9-10v while cranking. My issues appears to be, that ignition and injectors will turn on and off while its cranking, not allowing it to start. I believe its allowed me to do a log while cranking so ill attach it below. running a nz wirng trigger kit also, which seems to make start up take a while longer when everything is working as it should, unsure if this is an issue or not as well. Thanks PC Datalog - 2024-03-28 12;30;19 pm.llgx
  3. Good morning, Hoping i can get some help diagnosing why my r34 gtt wont start. it has a new link plugin g4x ecu. I have setup my new sensors etc, but thats about all ive had luck with so far. My problems are as follows: - ecu turns off during cranking. i have tried multiple batteries, all of which have been charged. - Ignition doesnt seem to turn on, and testing it doesnt turn it on either, not sure why - Injectors test confirms they work, however im pretty sure they arent firing when cranking - oil temp sensor shows a fault and voltage is at 4.96. I changed fault level to 5v and this ha cleared it, however im thinking maybe the sensor wiring might be wrong? - Fuel pump wont stop priming. When i first plugged the ecu in, for maybe an hour, it would prime properly when i turnt the key on, and prime for cranking, now it is on 24/7 while the key is on. This leads me to believe the relay is stuffed, however if you see anything in the tune, please let me know! - unsure how to set my mac valve boost solenoid to be used as boost controller for wastegate. I did manage to hear it click on and off when i tested it earlier on, now im having no luck. Info on the car: 1000cc injectors 460Lph walbro with relay setup fuel pressure sensor oil temp and pressure sensor 2 in 1 bosch sensor continental ethanol sensor link can lambda wideband setup iat boost solenoid (mac valve) wired to factory wiring Im hoping to have all sensors reading correctly, and have it running well enough so ican drive it out of the driveway, onto a car trailer in order to take it to get tuned next week. Any help is appreciated! Thanks Deklan attached is a log of my cranking the car, as well as the latest store. R34 Deklan 24 11.pclx PC Datalog - 2023-11-24 10;58;48 am.llgx
  4. Thanks mate, I'll check that out also. I was having no luck getting it to fire up as well. Although, probably other issues as I couldn't get ignition to switch on, as well as ecu drops out everytime I crank it even with brand new batteries
  5. No, I didn't save anything as I was keen to start the setup from scratch to try and eliminate some problems I was having. Ill have a look for the calibration files, I haven't seen them before. Thanks
  6. Good morning, I reset my ecu to faxtory settings, however i believe this has wiped the setup that it came with from factory to suit my r34 gtt. Im hoping someone will be able to send me a copy of the stock settings for a r34 gtt? Thanks heaps. Deklan
  7. Thanks for the help guys. Ill have a look for the factory solenoid wiring tomorrow, but not too hopeful as when I got the car it had a greddy boost controller installed (assumedly not working) and a boost tee as well. This things been fiddled with a bit over the 20+ years haha. Say I can't find the factory wiring, is taking the signal to volt 6 or di 5/6 of my xs harness going to do the trick? Ill also be wiring in a flex fuel sensor for the future. Am I correct in powering it from 12v switched, the ecu ground and either di 5 or 6 output from xs harness? And the fuel pressure sensor signal can be wired to whatever is left over in the xs harness? Currently only temp 3 is used for my IAT. Ill download the software onto my computer tomorrow so I can sort it out in there also. Cheers have a good weekend
  8. A bit more research and it seems the ntk air fuel monitor can be wired in to be read by the ecu? (I was misled and thought It wasn't done properly). That would solve one problem for me. If you could advise on the correct way to wire that in that would be awesome! As well as the correct way to wire in the boost solenoid and fuel pressure sensor. Thanks for your help
  9. Hey guys, Recently bought a new car (S14 sr20det series 1) and looking to install a fuel pressure sensor, Wideband and boost solenoid before I get it re-tuned. Currently has a ntk air fuel monitor/Wideband wired into the ecu as well as a link 4 bar map sensor. I'm wondering if it's going to be possivle to wire in these extra sensors with this ecu, as I'm assuming it's quite an old model. Thanks!!
  10. Thanks heaps! That worked perfectly.
  11. Hey guys, Received my mx5 back from its tune the other day, absolutely loving it so far. However Tacho still isn't working, so would love to get to the bottom of that. It randomly swings up and drops instantly, super randomly while driving. Theres no pattern to it from what i can tell. Tacho settings are as they come from the box i believe. And Tacho worked perfectly before installing this ecu. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  12. Just after some help to wire up some sensors to the expansion harness. I have: 1. Link Wideband module. This seems straight forward, plugged into the canjst 4 pin outlet and plug in the rest of it as needed. Think we're all good here 2. intake air temp sensor. 2 wires, I'm unsure where to pin them too. https://www.efisolutions.com.au/air-intake-temperature-sensor-motorsport-with-conn 3. Fuel pressure sensor, 3 wires. 5v, grnd, and signal. Unsure where to pin these too. https://www.efisolutions.com.au/stainless-steel-pressure-sensor-150psi-1-8-npt-thr~127222 4. Oil temp and pressure sensor. 4 wire, assuming 2 signals, grnd and 5v https://www.efisolutions.com.au/bosch-fluid-pressure-and-temperature-sensor-pst-f1 I'm wondering if the expansion loom has a 5v output that I can link all of these sensors off of, as well as the grnd. Any help is appreciated. I have the expansion loom plugged into the socket with ign 3, ign 4, di7, di8, di9, temp 3, temp 4, vbot. Thanks
  13. Hey Adam, did you get a chance to check that last log? having the car tuned next week and hoping to have this sorted first. Cheers!
  14. as attached . thanks PC Datalog - 2022-09-19 12;08;38 pm.llgx
  15. Thanks for that mate. Loaded it on this morn. Still has the battery light showing though, is that a problem? Ill try the tacho setup a bit later. Thanks again for all the help!
  16. The tacho randomly moves. I have attached a vid 20220917_154221.mp4
  17. attached, thanks. is there a way to check if the regulation for the alternator is all good? ive heard of people having problems with these alternators as they arent self regulated like the na8 one is. cheers mx5tune.pclx
  18. Checked the sensor and one of the pins was bent out of shape. Got it sorted now and starts! Thanks! Next question... Is there a way to get the alternator to work correctly or do I need to purchase a na8 self regulating alternator? My revs aren't showing on the dash either... Not sure if this linked however Thanks!
  19. attached. thanks TriggerScopeLog.llgx
  20. Oh also, I don't have any spark either. Pulled a plug and tested it grounded out and no spark. Is that something that's apparent in the log?
  21. Sweeeet will do it in the morning. I appreciate your help! Thanks again
  22. Hey mate, hopefully this was done right. Thanks PC Datalog - 2022-09-16 7;25;03 am.llgx
