  1. I'm running 2nzfe denso coils with built in ignitors on mine, but have only run it to 19psi without any breakdown issues, only clutch slip I wasn't aware that the Vipec could drive the Toyota JZ ignitor correctly, I thought it had to be changed for a dumb ignitor when doing a vipec install on a JZ. Have you logged the voltage at the injectors/ignition and compared it to what the ECU is actually reading? I've had a couple of installs on factory wiring now where there was a fair difference between the two, so the deadtime/dwell values were out as the voltage the ECU was reading didn't match what the injectors/ignition were receiving.
  2. yep, I typically only buy new plugs if the current ones are broken or the plastic is old and on the verge of cracking. I stock up on new pins and seals though for complete looms and use mostly 2nd hand housings.

  4. I was one of the first in QLD to purchase a V88 in 2008, if traction control was a dealbreaker I would have changed to another ECU years ago. But I am very happy with the way the vipecs in all my cars operate.
  5. if you are sick of waiting, why not sell up and use a different ECU?
  6. sorry about that, doing a little more checking the 89420-17040 is from the naturally aspirated 3sge engine. Probably best to set it up on a bench with a vac tester and build your own calibration

  8. so you've tested the sensor while it's connected to the vipec with an external thermometer and it reads correctly?
  9. I've done one for a ZZE122 Corolla with 1zzfe that I turbocharged. I had to use the 2nz vvti trigger setup from the vipec software as the 1zz dropdown caused a premature revlimit at ~4000rpm. This is a list of pinouts for the MR2 Spyder: http://www.purcellperformance.com/1zz/1zz_spyder.xls This is my working file for the plug-in adapter I made for the corolla's 1zz: http://www.purcellperformance.com/1zz/1zz_Vipec_V44.xls
  10. what happens when you disconnect the alternator charge lead and run the engine off just the battery or an external power source? Still get the high readings? have you installed non-resistor type spark plugs?
  11. that's usually the case You see this a lot when doing toyota engine conversions with newer engines into older cars, have to make a small circuit to invert the signal. Thankfully it's not difficult to select the right polarity in the vipec software
  12. ATS on the AC amp is an output, it's not required for aftermarket ECU's. What is the polarity and drive type set to for your aircon clutch output?
  13. have you checked the AC request and AC trigger polarity on the stock ECU and set the vipec to match?
  14. try following this old guide from Ray: http://users.tpg.com.au/adsl0uxv/Closed ... ontrol.pdf
  15. The datastream info is in the help file under communicaitons
