  1. I have got the Link Ecu XTREME, and installed and connected it to the BMW E36M50B25 vanos. How can i make the vanos work? Should i set up any special configuration? Could you please advice. Maybe you have any guidelines on the correct vanos set up? Because it seems doesnt work.

  2. Hi Adam, im messing with setting up my pmu16 and keypad with the thunder ECU on the bench. I have everything working from the ECU to the PMU on CAN and it all seems to work fine.

The thing i want to see if you can help me with is how to receive the stream im sending from the PMU back to the ECU with the keypad states to activate CAN Di's etc.

This is what  the PMU is putting out when no keypad switches are active:

    ID           DLC     Bytes                                         freq

    100h      8          00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00         20hz

This is with one keypad button pressed

    ID           DLC     Bytes                                         freq

    100h      8          01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00         20hz

Ive tried a few things but seem to going round in circles.  The ID is hex also in the PMU so i assume the id in the ECU will be 256.

    Hope hat makes sense.

      Hi Phil,

Are you using the "canbus export" (main project tree) or "export keypad state" (keypad setup) function?  The CANbus export function is generally the better option so you can send the actual channel after latching or whatever function is applied.

But to answer your question I would expect one of the two setups below would do it - probably either will work but some devices count the bits from the opposite end.
