1. As topic Recomended solenoids for S50B32 dualvanos with Link? Does LinkG3 support Dvanos..or do we need to go for the "plus"?
2. Hi! We have an issue with out VR6 N/A car...the 12v once -92 We put the Bosch motorsport 0 221 503 002 3x2 coil + Link ignition 3 channel ampflier and we get a knockdetonation on the 6th cyl when reving from idle standing.....even if we lower the ignition degree to like 5 degrees When changing to distributor appl the car runs good but without knocking..though..it feels like it has 50hp less then with the 3x2 bosch coil. Anyone have exp regarding VR6 engins? /Jonas
3. Hey Link! Do you have anything ready with VANOS maps for the S50B32? (BMW M3 3,2 Euro), we need a system that maintain the full VANOS function and still let us tune the system. Do you have a VANOS map u can suply? iam unsure we can tune the vanos our self correct on the dyno / Jonas SWEDEN
4. Can i use the LINK tripple igniter to boost the M5 "Coil on plug" ignition with my G3 on a S38B38 M5 turbo engine? , or do i have to use for ex a MSD DIS4 box? We are using E85 gasoline(ethanol)and want to put out 800-1000hp http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=HC91&mospid;=47387&btnr;=12_0429&hg;=12&fg;=05
5. Ok, thanks for tips Tim! But will this coil handle 700hp ??
6. I have a turbo subaru motor in a sandcar with an older link unit. At 4700 rpm the motor begins to misfire. It sounds like it's hitting the rev limiter. The rev limiter is set at 6800 rpm. I set the programmer to the test rpm page then brought the motor up to 4700 rpm and noticed the readings started to jump around. With this info, the problem seems to be more ignition related rather than fuel. I have tried 3 different computers, a new coil, new spark plugs (gapped to .024"), new resitor spark plug wires, new timming belt, new cam sensor, checked all grounds, tried 3 different ignitors and I still get the same problem. It runs smooth up to this rpm level. It almost seems as if there is some sort of feed back or interfence signal that is corrupting the low voltage signals. Is it possibe the suppressor on the coil power supply might have gone bad causing voltage spikes? What else can I look at to determine were the problem might be? >
>Thank, mike martinez
I had similar problem this summer on my 6-cyl engine...but when i changed in "dwell" between risin and falling...it solved my problem, i dont know if u can adjust this...just an idea /Jonas
7. What coil should i choose for the G3 ? , its a BMW 6-cyl turbo, want to run wastedspark application instead of the oldschool "rotor" system. Is there any good choice of BOSCH coils? have u tryed 3pcs tower MSD coil along with the trippel igniter? suggestions needed!! Best Regards Jonas SWEDEN
8. Can i adjust so it cuts both fuel and ignition ? I heard on this "old" 12v Bmw 6 cylinder engine the rocker are very sensitive to hardcut and "backpressure/exhaust shoots" , they brake to earlie... any suggestions?
9. PROBLEM SOLVED!! mixed up "falling and rising" dwell....im using MSD so it should be falling!
10. When about 85-90 degree limit is set to 7000rpm and 240kpa , no other limit is activated.. i tried to shift polarity on trigger sensor...didnt not make any diffrents...just alittle better idle i think, and 0 trigger errors....before i had about 3 this is making me crazy
11. I talked to Simon/Link over Skype last night.. and we found that the arming threshold voltages were like shut of after 2000rpm..they were set to 0.0 voltage , so we changed them so we have higher voltage up on higher revs.. it feels really like this was the problem..i will go out in the garage and download this numbers soon..and try to rev it up. /Jonas
12. Ok.. We are using a 60-2 toothed gear with what i think is called a magnetic VF sensor. (BMW STD PARTS) We are also using the PN6600 MSD HVC coil pack system. Do i have to set any type of dwell time? We are right now up to start it up for the first time...just going trough alls ensors and such. the engine is still the M30B35 engine...6-cyl..
13. http://catalog.meca.se/Upload/images_web/KVMZ0324.jpg http://catalog.meca.se/Upload/images_web/KVMZ0540.jpg This is how it looks...same type as Volvo 760/780
14. Hey there A! Sorry for lack of information! As i can se...there is a cable connected thrue a "ring" on 1th cyl cable..and there is also a crank sensor BUT it only runs to the diagnostic output?! So iam very unsure how it works...the ecu is a bosch ecu and made for boost as it comes like this from Bmw fabric! , regarding the sensor info i guess i have tot take it apart to see how it operates?!
15. I got some questions how to wire up the 745i Turbo std ignition to the Link system i have. It has the distributor mounted on the camshaft but i do not know what kind of signal the box want? We will run it with a MSD 6 distributor ignition package (singel coil + box) I also will use a Audi Rs2 PWM valve to controll the boostpressure , will it work prop u think ?
16. Ok... So remove the distributor totaly and replace with a 36-1 tooth gear on the crank wont help me if running WS ?
17. I was thinking.. If running a 36-1 or 60-2 toothed trigger wheel with a inductive sensor, will it solve my problems? , can i get rid of distributor then?..i meen choose just this trigger point?
18. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l61/Jonase79/3.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l61/Jonase79/2.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l61/Jonase79/1.jpg Sorry if i do not understand..as i see the only thing meassuring the crank is the distibutor , when looking in to it, it has one sensor...and a "wheel" with 4 openings , so..it reads every crank rotation 4times??
19. There is a 8v single cam engine..the VW G60(PG) 4-cyl compressor engine...runned Turbo´d , i think there is only the hall sensor mounted on the distributor that is connected to the intermediate shaft to the crank...no other sensor meassuring "engine speed". Hope i dont confuse it to much...u might understand what i meen anyway.. /Jonas
20. Hi guys! Question about the ignition part.. I have the G3 system and a GM coil with 4-outputs...it has "2 coils" as i can see but it runs for 4-cyl (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50378545/Ignition_Coil.jpg), i have also the Link dual channel igniter. the connector on coil is marked with 1,2,3,4...can i use this combination, and how should i wire it?..iam thinking of using the signal from the distributors hall sensor. Sorry for stupid questions...hope u can clear my thoughts out. Regards Jonas SWEDEN
