  1. drag racing tomorrow night. can anyone help? any advice? Cheers, Mike
  2. Hello, i'm trying to configure flat throttle shifting for my car. My clutch switch is on DI#6 and is operating correctly when viewed with 'runtime values' (digital tab). Just trying to test it, i set the activation rpm @ 3000, and TP% at 5. when i rev above 3000rpm and then tap the clutch (to trigger the switch), the engine slowly decelerates and then stalls. The car will not fire up again until i turn the key to off (or acc) then back to ON. It looks like something is permanently cutting the ignition. The type of cut is set to either timed or non timed, same result. I checked the help file, but it says only up to 4.6 . So that is no help. Does anyone have an updated help file? Or some advice? Cheers, Mike
  3. awesome Matt! Thanks for your input. sadly i'm running a 6 wire (4output from link) idle control stepper, so my outputs are very limited. But it's good to know it can be done. Maybe i can swap it out for a single wire unit at a later stage so i can do this Cheers, Mike
  4. Thanks for your help Rod and Cameron. The PWM output was something i was thinking about. With all this in mind, can i use a low cost LCD screen on the CAN port to display this information (RS232)? I can't really justify spending $999 on the display link at the moment. Cheers, Mike
  5. Thanks for the reply Bill. The only problem with your solution is that would require 1 output per LED used. If i want a water temp display, oil temp display and oil pressure display, that would need 21 outputs! (7 LED's x3) I'm hoping to achieve this using 3 outputs only. This is why i need a variable output voltage, so that the LED's light up proportionally to the temperatures/outputs the Link ECU is reading. Cheers, Mike
  6. Hello, Can the Link be used to drive a Multi LED display? I'm thinking 3 green, 2 orange, and 2 red. Will the Link output a variable voltage (0-5v) from the auxiliary output so i can make this work? i.e. ECT. 30 deg C 1 green. 60 deg C 2 green. 90 deg C 3 green. 100 Deg C 3 green + 1 yellow 105 Deg C 3 green + 2 yellow 110 Deg C 3 green + 2 yellow + 1 red 115 Deg C 3 green + 2 yellow + 2 red I can sort out the LED circuitry with resistors etc, but i just need to know if the Link can output this sort of voltage. I would do this for my Oil temp and Oil pressure also. This way it can be a very small (physically) indication of what my temps/pressures are doing, easily readable. The stock temperature gauge in the cluster is terribly inaccurate, so this would replace it. I have a Link G4 Xtreme ECU with 3x spare auxiliary outputs (Aux 2, 9 and 10). Cheers, Mike
  7. Hello, I was looking at getting a racing dash (AIM MXL) or a DisplayLink for my road car. But now i'm thinking thats a bit overkill. Does anyone know if PCLink can be used on an iPhone or an Andriod based phone? That way you could display exactly what you wanted to see, on your 4' screen on your mobile phone. If i were racing, i'd probably only want to see Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water temp and any warnings. It could be plugged in via the USB. I think iPhone doesn't have USB in though. Have anyone looked into this? Cheers, Mike
  8. pretty sure the extreme doesn't have Knockblock inbuilt. it has to be bought and installed sepearately. I'm trying to find prices etc for everything you need. I'm running Link G4 Extreme. Can Link Staff help out?
  9. ECU ground on my mirage was above the passengers left foot, just forward of the passenger door.
  10. Just FYI I talked to Jurgen at Link yesterday, we worked out that you can use a 0-5V AN VOLT input to measure Ohms to give a PSI reading. This is done with the drop down menu's and using a custom calibration table with Ohms and PSI on the axis. Gotta love Link!! Now i just have to find a sensor! Cheers, Mike
  11. Bump for answers please. car will be wired up next week, to be ready for 4&R; nationals on 31st Jan. Cheers, Mike
  12. hello, i'm using a G4 Extreme on my evo6 powered mirage. I'm looking to log oil pressure and temperature, and possibly fuel pressure. I've been looking around for suitable senders. I know the bosch item that you recommend for temperature, But i'm having trouble finding a suitable Pressure sender that outputs 0-5V. I think this is one here - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Auto-Meter-2246-Sending-Unit-Fuel-Pressure-Each-Summit_W0QQitemZ390138372426QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5ad60f214a#ht_2964wt_897 Does Link have any senders they recommend? Do you use the 0-5V output senders or the resistance variable senders with a voltage divider/current limiting circuit? Could you please quote prices for your options, and/or Part Numbers. Cheers, Mike
