  1. Ive been trying for a while now to get Wake-Up Enrichment to work on my Linkplus G2. It is selectable on the ecu, and works. But when store is pressed and the ecu is power cycled it automatically switches it off. After emails with Simon and Scott, and after them trying it out on a ECU, they have found that there is a issue with the firmware and there's nothing that can be done about it. I thought i would leave this here so if anyone has the same issue they know why.! Cheers
  2. Im now wondering if this Link has issues... I had it running saturday night with the Mitsi igninter, and it ran resonably well. But then tried it today, and it does the same thing as before, sparks after cranking not during... Is the SUB24NEW maybe got the wrong trig setup or something for my application? (4age) Thanks
  3. Hi Simon. Tried today with a misibushi igniter, (as people say they have luck with these) and i still have the same issue. It doesnt spark when cranking, but when i stop there is a surge of spark into the dizzy. Like the coil is holding it till the engine stops cranking. Any idea what would be causing this?? Still getting rpm reading, and have set the  priority to sync, and have tried cyl with no difference.. thanks
  4. Hi All, Happy new Year.!! Been trying again with the link etc, and still cant get it to rev higher than 4k ish.. This seems to be beacuse the igniter is getting really hot and cutting all spark so it doesnt explode. Also tried an igniter off a ae101 silvertop, this helped a little to start off with, but after a minute it did the same thing and was getting really hot aswell.. To me it just seems to be that the link is giving to higher dwell to the igniter.. Can this be changed at all Simon.??? Or is that what the upgrade to v5 is for... ThanksÂ
  5. Ok... And is this changable.???? As it must be to high for the standard igniter..Â
  6. Also the tacho (which is driven of the igniter) is very erratic.. It doesnt sit nicely, it floats around a bit..
  7. Ok, checked and it is on ign 1, ign 2 gives it spark when not cranking.. Ok, but the v4 doesnt have dwell adjustment does it.??? Is there anything i can do to stop it from getting hot.? And or does it matter.? ThanksÂ
  8. Ok, Had a little bit of help understanding some more of the fuel table, and ignition tables. Tidied them up  a bit, and then tried to run the car again.. When cranking it doesnt start, but then when i stop cranking it has a surge of spark and fires.. Sometimes. Once it actually fired and started running, It idles nicley, but when reving past 3k it drops all spark (on the timing light) and backfires etc. I then noticed that the Igniter is insanely hot... I take it this is not normal.. So im thinking there is an issue with how the Igniter is wired, or something in the Link.. Ig1 is wired to IGt.. And that seems to be correct everywhere i look.. What am i doing wrong.? Am i missing something... ThanksÂ
  9. As you can see in attached pic, no option for TPS Setup.
  10. Yes i get both of those. Ok, should i have to run the TPS Setup though.? To change the  tps numbers on the side of the fuel map.? Or are they correct how they are. Thanks
  11. Well thats the issue, that option isnt there once the link is connected.. It disappears..Â
  12. Also, should i get the TPS Setup menu on the laptop.? Ive read this in the manual, but i dont get it once ive powered on the link and connect on the laptop...? Any help with this.? THanksÂ
  13. Hi all, Been having a few issues getting my 4age running with the Link. Its a Link G1 V5, but the map that was on it is of a highly tuned 20v, and seems to be alot different to what im in need of. Does anyone have a Base Map that would suit my needs.? Ideally a 16v Bigport, but any sort of 4age would help! Thanks!
  14. yes that sounds right, but im running a different dizzy, and the vr sensor/pickup is on the other side than what the original one is. So pointing at #1 is actually #4...
  15. ok. Another thing. Does the ecu trigger and fire the coil when the rotor passes the pickup, or after it passes does it wait till a certain point or degree. And is this changable.? As when i was trying to get it to run, no #1 was a quarter turn from the VR pickup.(As its a smallport dizzy) So wasnt getting spark out of #1. So that is why i changed the leads over, and ran #1 on the 4th post, which is directly opposite the pickup.. And got better spark, and fired a couple of times. But still not consistintly. ThanksÂ
  16. Ok, might look at doing that then. Also, the sticker on the unit says its for a 7mgte.. Does this actually matter.? Should it be updated to 4age or something.? (Firmware version or something) If so is it possible for me to do this.? ThanksÂ
  17. Yes i live in Hawkes Bay. Im down in Christchurch in a weeks time, so could pop it past.? Asked a guy about a base map, so might get one next week, so will then try it all with that, as still cant quite get it running properly..Â
  18. Ok, well must not be correct then. Doesnt like it.. Ok, is there any way to see if it is the ECU.? And Or fix the issue with running extra power cables to it, etc.? Â
  19. ok, so i will have to tinker with that then. Do you guys have base maps.?? AS the inbuilt one if for a 7mgte i think.. And just tried connecting just the seriallink without laptop, and same thing. Its like it limits it, or draws to much or something..
  20. Another thing is when cranking, it takes a fare bit of throttle opening to actually get it to start and idle. Is this due to the ignition and fueling table.?? And also when its idleing it sounds all ok, so rev it up a little, and it starts to bog, and then drops in rpm. Then revs back up again. Is this also due to the ignition and fueling table.?? (as its just the built in base tune)  Thanks
  21. Well got it running today.! Finally.! Ended up having to change where the leads were attached on the dizzy cap. Went from 1,3,4,2 - 1 on 4, 3 on  2, 4 on 1, and 2 on 3. Then got spark, and with a bit of encouragement it fired. But here comes the problem.. When the laptop is attached via the serial link, the car then stalls. And doesnt start, with all spark eventually disappearing. So i then turn the ECU off and disconnect the serial link, and then the car will fire. But when trying to start it with the laptop attached, it stalls.. Ive made sure that its not just reseting because of low battery power, etc.  Also, should i have ballasters on the Injectors..? Although They work correctly. Cheers
  22. Ok, well that makes sense, as when ive had spark it does only when it passes the pickup.. Well the Rotor is New, and ive got 2 caps that both look pretty good. And still am not getting consistent spark. I tried it again this afternoon, and it would get a surge of spark after turning it over. And would make a arcing out sound from the dizzy, and the timing light on #1 would flicker riduculously. But there is still no spark at ignition when turning it over. Only after... Have i done something wrong.? Are the dip switches correct.? On, off off On. And got it running (kinda) once, but was like it was only running on 1 cylinder and would bog right down if i didn thave my foot on the gas... Something must be quite off.. Just getting no-where with this.. (Also it seemed to be when i had the PC connected it wouldnt spark at all. Then disconnected PC and it would surge spark after turning over.) Could the Link be broken.? Or have issues.Â
  23. Hi, Thanks for all that info, very helpful! Ive had it running once. Very lumpy and overfueling i think. But now i get no spark.. Ive checked the dizzy clearances, new rotor and cap. When it does spark its just a random one somewhere, no consistency. Should it work correctly with the standard setup.? Ive rechecked the trig wires, and they are all connected, and to the write spot. It cant be the coil or igntiter, because when i put the original dizzy and ecu in it works fine.. I do get a spark from the coil directly, but this is also not very consistent, just random. I get a reading on the computer of the rpm, but just doesnt to be consistent spark.. So thats something to do with the G1... Ive also tried the other G signal in the dizzy, as its a Smallport one with a 24/1 rotors, and to sensors, G1, G2. Do the sensors have to be at a specific position.? Like when its at TDC does it need to have the sensor and rotor matched exactly.? Any ideas.? Much appreciated!!
  24. Hi, yes rpm is stable around 200. Ok, have some issues with timing. Sometimes its getting no spark on 1, but i did have it running for a short time, but the timing was way out. It would idle ok, but when being reved at all would bog and go back to idle. A thought, what should the dip switches inside be set too.? Also on the subboard there is 1 switch that has on or 1 on it. What is this for.? And yes TPS is fine, reads 17 - 128. With no jumps. Thanks
  25. Well after a quite a few hours of cranking and getting nothing, im a bit stumped. Anyone know if the smallport dizzy should actually work.? (with the timing all set up right) The wires all match up, and i get a rpm reading on the laptop.. But just doesnt fire, or when it does it is very minor and just sputters, then stalls. Thanks
