I run 10,000Hz (10kHz) on my vehicles as it is quieter than 1kHz

hey vaugh. do they need to run at 10000hz? I'm running a bosch motorsport 68mm at 1000hz. when i use the recommended settings, 10000hz, and when i do a tps calibration the throttle body would go crazy and flap around.

also is running 1000hz would be the cause i cant use closed loop idle correctly? my pid's are sensible and close to target. but when i switch to closed loop idle, the throttle becomes hunting and eventually stalls. P7, I0.080, D4. open loop runs fine but could be better with closed loop.

looks like this was an issue in the gauge software and it appears to have been fixed in the latest update.

Thanks Vaughan. Do you mean the mobile app (ios/android)? I’m on ios. The app is a bit basic I don’t see options to upgrade the firmware etc. for the gauge.

Are your gears showing up correctly in the ECU? The setup for gear detection is in Chassis and Body -> Gear Detection

Yes I've them set up and already have them running quite some time. Using the calculated method.

  4. Thanks Adam.

Contacted gaugeart support. Although the gauge can be set at 500k, it's only available through the android app. But ideally they suggested that the gauge should run at 1mb and separate from the oem bus. So went ahead and bought a link candash cable instead. working well now.

Question, transmit generic dash does transmit gear position from the help file but it doesn't seem to be displaying on the gauge. Is there any additional setting to it?

  5. I’ve recently gotten the LinkEcu version of the cangauge.

I’ve wired it up correctly with the gauge sitting at the end of the bus with the terminator in place.

In between the bus is a line connected to my instrument cluster which relies on 500k bitrate.

(Previously my cluster sits at the end of the bus, directly wired to the ecu canbus CAN2)

I cannot get either to work with the included instructions settings (transmit generic dash on channelX, ID56).  Is there any way to change the gauge to accept 500k?

When the gauge is connected and powered on, my cluster stops working. When I unplug the gauge, my cluster comes back to life.

I’ve also tried removing the terminating resistor on the gauge, it still won’t work and my cluster also won’t work as long as the gauge is powered on and connected.

Ecu is furyX. Currently using CAN2.

Easy way would just be purchasing a ltw to dash connector and use CAN1 but I’m trying to avoid that for now.

It just looks like the PID needs tuning to me.  Looks like it need more I, possibly more P.

I can give it a try. But what can cause the sudden behavioral change. It was running fine before this.

  7. Hi All,

Currently running a bosch 68mm throttle body from a merc. And only recently it's been behaving erratic.

TPS1&2 seems to fluctuate when there is no command (APS or AC/FAN stepups) example on idle.

But under command it behaves fine when AC/FAN stepups are commanded.

In the log DC motor seems to pulsate as well.

Just wondering could this be a sign it's failing?

Log and tune in OneDrive link as the file is too big to be attached. ECU is FuryX.

  8. I'm interested to be a child myself. I've heard about "ghost cam", I kinda get the idea of playing around with ignition maps. But how does one go about properly setting it up? is it ideal to have the trims on a 4D or the main map? Does idle ignition need to be disabled in order for this childish feature to work properly? Do you need to adjust fueling as well, like leaning it out?

Would appreciate to have your input @Adamw. Maybe an example. He he he.

  9. Hi all,

I previously ran a nissan 350z throttle body which is 70mm.

I've now switched to a donor Bosch 74mm throttle body because the nissan failed on me and this was all I have.

I am now experiencing issues with the car trying to idle as it hunts from time to time.

I've redone the tps calibration for the 74mm bosch. I've also started tuning base position and idle up tables from scratch (from cold as per manual). I still can't get a good idle and the car isn't so lively anymore on the response.

My PID seems sensible as I can see the TPS and Target tracks fairly close. Or is it not?

I've also checked for possible vacuum leaks but i think they're good. When i shut the base position to 0, the engine stalls.

70 to 74mm doesn't seem like a big jump but could this be too big for a 1.8L 4g93 mivec engine, stock cams, just with higher compression?

ECU is a FuryX. I've attached my map and some logs below.

  10. Thanks Adam. However this will be always on right? I was thinking of activating this through a switch when needed, combined with gearshift control for full throttle upshift function. I'm not sure if this is possible, i have not explored that yet.

  11. Hi,

I’m looking for examples if possible, to run a downshift auto-blip and WOT upshift.

    This for a fury g4x.
Car has e-throttle, with clutch switch and brake switch wired in to digital inputs. It’s a street car with a standard synchro H-pattern gearbox.

Any suggestions and examples would be appreciated. Thank you.

  12. Thanks Adam!

I'll try and figure out if i can get usb to communicate over the air. not sure if a usb to usb wireless dongles exists. But is only the storm or the rest of the range i.e fury and extreme can do rs232?

  13. Hi, I'm using the G4+ Storm (black) ecu that uses the link proprietary usb cable to connect to the ecu, unline the atom/monsoon which uses the generic usb mini port. My question is does the storm connect via serial?

From the help files it says this communications port (pictures attached) isn't available for storm. I'm guessing it is referring to CAN which the storm has a wired pin out on the ecu loom itself.

I'm planning to do a connection to the ecu wirelessly. If the ecu communicates via serial I'm guessing it would be possible to use a wireless rs232 connection?
