    USB-C to USB3.0 adapter?

oh nice. Some hardware are a little picky with new interfaces that's why i am asking
  2. Hello guys. Are there any issues connecting a USB-C computer via a USB3.0 adapter to a link g4+? If not, any adapter will do? Planning on installing a windows tablet in the car and can be used for several things unlike obd2.
  3. Just an update to this, the solution was to move to a more flowing FPR, i used Turbosmart FPR 800 to have a stable +-1psi fuel pressure. The issue is with a restrictive FPR all the flow from the pump increases head pressure so the base fuel pressure you set is higher than when you have less fuel returning. Either way best to use a fuel pressure sensor as i have now as well and have the ecu compensate (assuming you have injector flow data for each voltage and pressure)
  4. Ok, got a reply to this thread today..Bob replied to the thread but apparently you deleted it? We've been waiting for updates for more than a year and there's nothing..
  5. interested as well..it's been more than a year..
  6. Can we at least get info on when we should finally expect a new FW?
  7. Yes but not so simple. The analogread will sometimes read on the rising or falling edge of the innovative pull up so you would end up with wrong values showing as spikes in the datalog. Solution was to calibrate some limits in the nominal value ranges and use some filtering to end up with nice data. These should be ok for datalog purposes but i wouldn't use them as control data, even for engine protection as there are not guaranteed to be 100% reliable and accurate data. For this i would run separate sensors, or use something else rather than innovate (not the best systems built down to a price - oil pressure sensor is not a good sensor, old tech). Using a digispark which is a tiny arduino, and here's my code:
  8. Is there is an easy way to do this? Can someone give me some pointers? And can we add this as a feature? Like a graph you can customize the axis to popular compressor map styles like Garrett, Borg warner, etc and then use the compressor map image where we can stretch manually to fit under the points?
  9. It's been a long time since the last firmware update.. Are we getting something soon with maybe some of the requested features?
  10. Well i am thinking the same - it is either one of the 2..my idea is to datalog the voltage at the fuel pump to see if i have a noticeable drop - both could be an issue in the end though
  11. Hello. If you remember i added a fuel pressure sensor recently and i am running differential fuel pressure compensation on the injectors. Under WOT conditions you can see that fuel pressure starts falling from about 46-48psi base fuel pressure to 40psi and even spikes up to 52psi during the gear change. Injectors are ID 1050X, 8mm fuel lines, new fuel filter, oem fuel rail (ca18det), and adjustable fpr (unknown brand, very similar to SARD design - not the copy one though, this one is riveted). Fuel pump is Walbro 255lph HP version running on the stock nissan wiring (15A fused - stock is 10A - heard there is a measurable voltage drop in our cars). What i am wondering is this 12psi fluctuation range typical of what do you normally see, should i be worried, or is there any point of limitation in the fuel system? From the data you can see fuel flow at fuel load is 2L/min=120lph, this pump can do this flow at 90psi @12V, whereas the fuel pressure i have is much less. I am thinking the adjustable fuel pressure regulator is the "issue", too small, with too small diaphragm. What are your thoughts?
  12. Yes indeed, tested it later in the afternoon, everything works as expected
  13. Hello guys. I have my engine running Injector Dynamics 1050x injectors @~3bar base fuel pressure on a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator. Was running them on a 2D injector dead time table with correct short pulse adder table, and last week i've got a 10bar (absolute?) fuel pressure sensor of which i've hooked up and wired correctly. Now i am doing the map setup to change to the 3D injector dead time table and i am confused (already changed Fuel system type from MAP referenced to FP sensor, that is correct right?). The following data i have is 100% correct (fuel pressure vs voltage vs injector lag time). Now should i use differential fuel pressure instead of fuel pressure? If i do this shouldn't i have to subtract 3bar (300kpa - aka my base fuel pressure) from the x-axis values shown in my screenshot? Or does the model internally calculates this correctly the way i have it set up in the screenshot right now? You see my "problem" is that if i use differential fuel pressure this means in case the BASE fuel pressure changes for whatever reason the system will compensate incorrectly and it will require re-adjustment of the x-axis values. The way i see this to function correctly is if the model when set up to MAP referenced, to take account the 3d table i have below automatically assuming i gave it a correct base fuel pressure. I am pretty sure i am mistaken somewhere in my thinking because i am confused, so if you can please shed some light i would really appreciate it! edit: btw i've noticed the 3d table has 2 decimal places instead 3 decimal places of the 2d table, am i losing something? edit2: After thinking it about a lot i think i've got it, just changing the x-axis of this table in my screenshot from fuel pressure to differential fuel pressure should net me the correct results! This is because for example if i had my base fuel pressure to 300kpa, the engine idle to -50kpa MGP then the fuel pressure would be 300-50=250kpa and then the DP=250-(-50)=300kpa which can looked up on this table. This means if base fuel pressure = differential fuel pressure on 1:1 regulator meaning for any change it will be compensated by this table! Correct me if i'm wrong

    Launch problems

Thanks for the reply, it makes sense. My engine is a CA18DET which has cams directly over the valves and i never had such issues although my cams are only 8.5mm lift from memory. I only use ignition cut on launch control though at the moment

    Launch problems

Why stay with fuel cut on hydraulic lifters though? Is it a specific recommendation on the 4g63 head?
  16. Hello guys. Just bought these injectors: http://injectordynamics.com/injectors/id1050x/ If you go to the "Plug and Play Data" tab in the page you have some downloads. I know that the ones we are looking for G4+ modelled equation are the GM tables. They have 2 files available: ID1050x GM Characterization Tables – EFI Live – Updated 11-29-2016 ID1050x GM Characterization Tables – HP Tuners – Updated 11-19-2016 Both have similar data, including Short pulse width adder and other compensation factors. Which ones do you recommend using and are available to use with the G4+ ecus? (i own a g4+ xtreme black) Can you have a look at their excel files? Kind regards
  17. Thanks a lot guys, that's great, it's on my future list to make this mod at some point
  18. Thanks a lot guys, remember i was the one contacting you on facebook XD Will finally take a look now
  19. Hello Scott, sorry to hi-jack the thread but this is something i am planning - Could you recommend E-throttle bodies and pedals that are good and easy to retrofit to nissan engines like sr20det/ca18det/ka24de/rb series? Also is it possible to run anti-lag through e-throttle with the current state of firmware and even possibly eliminate the idle valve all with the e-throttle?
  20. Thanks again, i'll do some more testing and if something pops up i will let you know Maybe it was just a one-off bug :/
  21. Thanks for the reply Scott! 1) A 5min log is about 3mb. So a 10min should be about 6mb. Same parameters, i didn't change anything. I don't know why this one ended up so huge, showing essentially corrupted data. You think PClink disconnected while recording during the run? I have set PClink to automatically search and connect. I'm not sure what is the behavior when you are recording a log and the laptop disconnects and reconnects during recording. Maybe you can shed some light into this. Also i'm not sure how that checkbox option would affect the log in such a situation. I just checked and "save unchanged point" is not checked. Also another related question, does internal logging still operate while recording a log in pclink? In this case i could recover that run (of course with less parameters), if you need to. 2) Thanks i didn't know that table had such a resolution. I am sure you are aware of a past issue with other maps, that had the same apparent result, i think it would be nice if every table showed the resolution because you can't remember which ones have less 3) There aren't any cuts, the cable is brand new as the ecu, it is only bent a bit too tight at where it is connected to the ecu, but i don't think it has damaged the internal shielding. Maybe the communication protocol is too sensitive to electromagnetic interference? (like loosing a single packet drops the connection?). Is there is a way to test other than trying a new cable? Kind regards
