I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to setup a virtual aux to create a warning for lambda vs target lambda and possibly output via CAN BUS as a warning to my dash.
I only want to see a warning if the lambda is lean of the target by a certain amount, TPS is over a certain % and I'm in boost.
Any way to do this? Is there a better way?
Thanks.

When setting closed loop targets in psi is there a way to make it MGP PSI instead of psi so I don't have to add 14 psi to the target to account for atmospheric pressure?

I am looking to add a 6 position switch to increase boost on the fly. Trying to make sure im on the right track here.

He just sent me screen shots and said to match them exactly. I can load his screen shots if you would like, will just take me a min to get them into dropbox.
This was his screenshot.

I have a powertune dash and they instructed me how to create a custom stream for my Extreme g4+ however it's not working. Can you see anything wrong with this?

In the area where it goes sligthy rich you have a lambda error of about 0.04lambda so I think you could probably increase the gain a fair bit in the 0.033 and 0.066 cells. You will probably need to lower the conrol rate in the 0/1000/2000 & 3000 cells at the same time as your rate especially at 2&3000 is probably way faster than the time it takes for the exhaust gas to reach the sensor and the sensor respond.
Here is an example from our WRX test car (lambda just after turbo about 1M from exhaust valves). This is a G4X so I dont know how well the gains translate across but update rate should be relevant.
Well oddly enough, the g4+ maxes out at 20 on the gain table. What does the g4x max at for comparison?

Thanks Adam. That gain example is extremely different than mine so I can definitely see that working better. The help file didn't give a "typical" example like it does in a lot of other places so I didn't know really what was too much it too little.
Thanks again.

Is there a way to make pc log file auto save?
I use a Surface Go and if I do a log, forget to save, carry the surface into the house and wake the screen up..9 times out of 10 it has closed pc link and the log is gone. Same thing happens if the screen rotates while I move the tablet, pc link closes.

I used a 0-30 psi pressure transducer. It's interesting to watch the pressure rise and rise before the thermostat opens the first time. With a 20 psi cap the pressure gets up to about 25 psi then drops to about 9-10 after.

Can you attach the tune and log. I dont have any typical G4+ examples to share as all the cars im working on and driving at the moment are G4X. But there are really no "typical" settings, as exhaust flow, distance to the probe, lambda controller etc will all have a big impact.
I generally like to run high gain and lower rates as opposed to the oppsite. And I generally find you still want a small gain in the zero error cell. I will attach a couple examples from G4X later but not sure how relevant they will be to G4+
I have a log example and a current tune file but the tune isn't what was used during the log.

What are "normal" numbers for closed loop gain?
I am having an issue where closes loop is adding a little fuel under wot but once it needs to stop adding it takes a while to do so and the log shows it going rich for several log frames. It seems to add fuel much faster than it takes away. Is that normal?

Ohms conversion is only relevant if the pull-up resistor is 1000 ohms. For fuel level you normally have a much lower resistance pull-up than this so the cal table should use volts as the input.
Edit: This post here will give you an idea on how it needs to be wired:
Thanks as usual Adam.
I am not an electrical wizard but I can certainly duplicate this. Any advice on the specific resistors? The 100 ohm I can get locally are either 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt. Same with the 18k resistor.
The cap would be 6.3v?
Will all that work?

I am not finding much in the help files but curious what it takes to display fuel level with a 73 ohm empty, 8 ohm full sender.
I found a call file that I was able to setup and directed an analog input to that cal file but I am not sure if the ecu will read the ohms or only volts.
Link Extreme G4+
Do I need an external ohms to volts converter or will the ecu read ohms directly? If it will, how is it to be wired? Thanks.

Assuming you are running recent firmware, Ethanol content and APS are sent in the generic dash stream. Those channels were fairly recently added so powertune may not have added them to their end.
As for "Boost", both MAP and MGP are sent in the generic dash stream. What does MAP and MGP in the Link software display when the dash is displaying 7psi? Sounds like they might have something wrong in the scaling.
Thanks Adam. I updated the firmware and now it seems to be broadcasting some data on ethanol but it's reading 1% and PC Link is showing 87%. The APS still doesn't read anything at all. Guessing this is a dash issue?
-
Thanks Adam. I haven't updated the firmware in quite some time.

Hey guys,
I have a Link Extreme and a Powertune digital dash connected to Can2. Ecu isn't transmitting ethanol content or pedal position and the Kpa seems to transmit correctly but if changed to boost it reads a positive 7 psi at idle.
Is there a way to activate the transmission of the data that's missing? Any way to correct the boost reading?
Thanks.

All data is sent on unique ID's, you tell each receiving device which ID the data is on. So for instance the dash will only be looking at data on the bus with an ID of 1000. The ECU will only be looking for data with whatever ID the EGT's are on.
Adam one last question.
Is there any way to run a different GPS with the Link/AiM dash? $270 usd is steep for that gps and I don't need any of the features it offers other than speed.
I use $25-30 gps units from Cirrus, Marek, etc. Just curious if those could be made to communicate to the dash or even the Link ecu.

Thanks as always Adam.
I totally get it now.

Thanks Adam.
How do I let the ecu know that's it's receiving from both the dash and the can egt box? The box is the Amp EFI can egt.

Either option is fine. You can have many devices all on the same bus.
Do whatever is easiest. I would probably use CAN2 since you already have the wiring there.
Adam I'm kind of CAN stupid so to speak. How would I wire two different items to can 2 at once? Or would the dash be wired to can 2 and the egt box wired to the dash?
-
Does this dash have to connect to can 2 only or will it work with the round can port on the front of the case as well? Extreme G4+ ecu.
I am asking because I already have a Can EGT box hooked to can 2.
Would it be better to hook the dash to can 2 and the egt box to the dash?

Inlet cam sensor connected to trig 2. It should have a 3+1 type pattern.
Thanks Adam.
After lots of covid delays causing parts to slowly arrive... It runs.

I am looking to connect 6 egt probes using a can egt box. The Extreme manual mentions some compatible boxes such as the DIY autotune can egt as well as the ECU Masters can box.
Any feedback for either of these two in regards to which seems to work best with the Link ECU's? I have both boxes available locally to buy but I have never seen either used in person.
Thanks.

Just set the trigger mode to "Ford BA XR6 VTC".
The Thunder and Fury base maps are from Links barra test car so will be a reasonable starting point for many settings.
Be careful with that, hall sensors can be pretty fussy with tooth design and many reluctor wheel designs arent ideal for hall sensors. I have never seen a barra one so I dont know how relevant this comment is but make sure you keep an eye on it initially once it is running.
Adam can I assume the Link BA trigger setup is only looking at one cam for signal? Which one?
Mine are fully locked out with Dynomite lockouts and solenoid delete plugs. This motor is a full build with Kelford cams, springs, etc to make 1400+HP.
Thanks for the advice as always.

How did you trigger it? I built a virtual aux that has all of my parameters but I can't figure out how to trigger the GP RPM limit.
