Khaled Abdurhman Posted October 2, 2019 Report Posted October 2, 2019 Hello guys, i have problem with my tps when I changed my throttle and I have set the tps sensor again, it reads before I start the car but when I start it, the tps doesn’t work and doesn’t read , it starts only when I put my foot to the gas , when I take it off the car dies , and I don’t know why , please help me Quote
Adamw Posted October 2, 2019 Report Posted October 2, 2019 What do you mean by "it doesnt read", does it show 0% or some other value? Quote
Adamw Posted October 2, 2019 Report Posted October 2, 2019 Give us a log of a start up and a copy of the tune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P1LRANeO4A Quote

cj Posted October 2, 2019 Report Posted October 2, 2019 What do you have for an idle valve & is it connected? That log shows Idle valve % as 0 the whole time. Quote
Khaled Abdurhman Posted October 2, 2019 Author Report Posted October 2, 2019 I don’t have an idle valve , and no it’s not Quote
Adamw Posted October 3, 2019 Report Posted October 3, 2019 Your TPS is not working correctly at all in either log. Either it is wired wrong or it is faulty. It is only showing either 1.6 or 4.6V - nothing in between. Also there appears to be some other wiring issue as the 5V out sometimes spikes up to 5.5V and this upsets your MAP sensor. Edit: I just noticed your battery voltage drops to 7V in the same areas the 5V spikes so you definitely have a big wiring problem by the looks. Quote
Khaled Abdurhman Posted October 3, 2019 Author Report Posted October 3, 2019 Or maybe a dead battery I will change the battery first and see, but the TPS is new I just bought it! Quote
Adamw Posted October 3, 2019 Report Posted October 3, 2019 A dead battery will not make the 5v out read incorrectly, only a wiring problem or faulty sensor can do that. Quote
Khaled Abdurhman Posted October 3, 2019 Author Report Posted October 3, 2019 Ok, thank you for your help Quote
Khaled Abdurhman Posted October 6, 2019 Author Report Posted October 6, 2019 Hello, Adam I have a question! what would happen if I did a tps calibration and the ecu is password protected and if the ecu is not password protected and I did a tps calibration without pressing ctrl+s will the tps work or not ?! Quote
Simon Posted October 7, 2019 Report Posted October 7, 2019 It would be possible to still read something but likely the span would not be correct. Quote
Brad Burnett Posted October 8, 2019 Report Posted October 8, 2019 @Khaled Abdurhman What vehicle do you have? Some vehicles tps is only an idle switch and wot switch, for example early model MX5 miatas. Simon 1 Quote
