Engine-Tuna
Hi, can anyone help with an issue. I havent used the link software for about a year, on a supra last time and there was no issue, this weekend i tried to connect to an R32 Skyline GTR, at first it said to update the software on the laptop, did that, but no it will not recognise there is an ECU connected. Auto setting doesnt work, on manual connect setting the COM port is correct, i've tried connecting the baud rate, but still nothing. The laptops connectivity settings show the link as connected. Any advice much appreciated. Ed
Adamw
In windows device manager is there a Link ECU showing under the section Ports - COM & LPT? Is the ecu powered up - does the car run?
Engine-Tuna
hi, sorry i've only just seen this, thanks for the reply. Yes the ecu is showing in the ports, it is powering and the car runs! ?
Brad Burnett
Are you using the correct software? There is now G4, G4+, And most recent G4X.
Engine-Tuna
I'd have to check but I definitely tried g4 and g4+, I need to check if I have g4x on the laptop? . I try to avoid link to be honest, dont like the software. Personal preference that's all :)
Adamw
Can you give us a screenshot of the comport properties window general tab and driver tab similar to mine below. Then with PC Link G4+, can you turn off auto connect and rather than try to connect, go to ECU controls>update firmware and see if the firmware tool connects. The firmware tool uses a different bit of software to connect so may help diagnose.
