neil brown
Also the plug in ecu has serial number under 10000 is there a can mod to allow pc and link display to be connected at same time like the g4 storm wire in ecu (silver case)
Adamw
Yes, you need the CANPCB. Yes, the ecu will need the CAN mod if its serial number is <10000 to connect to the dash via CAN. You will be able to connect it via serial in the meantime but you wont be able to tune and have the dash connected at the same time. What is the socket you show in your first pic? neil brown
Socket is the data plug of the link display

I think that is possibly the power cable?
neil brown
That’s the data cable from the storm ecu which goes to female socket of link display when that is unplugged no data on screen
Adamw
Ok, so it is actually the ECU extension cable shown below as "CANEXT". Even with the CAN mod, using that cable will likely cause PC comms to not work as it also has the serial wires connected inside. You will have to de-pin a couple of wires off the CANPCB cable when you have it if you decide to go that way.
neil brown
Is the can mod easy to ? Or do I need to send it in
Adamw
It is not too bad, but ideally you want someone with some SMT electronics experience. Basically it involves removing 3 or 4 capacitors off the board but they are tiny and in a densely populated area.
