guirolca
Good afternoon, we have recently considered acquiring a new ECU model, specifically the Link G4+ Xtreme Black. The thing is that while analysing the new features it offers compared to our previous model, we became interested in the driver aid set up configuration. For our car, an acquisition system based on CAN communication is currently used along with a self-developed telemetry for time reduction purposes concerning the parameter set up. The question we have is, would it be possible to change the driver aids set up parameters on real time using CAN, without creating a new complete engine set up? Also, if possible, would it be enough to use 2 channels out of the available 6 to configure the traction control system, launch control and gear shift control? Thanks for your time. Adamw
You wont be able change any actual control settings, but you can for instance change say the target slip or launch RPM via CAN by using a CAN analog input on the launch and traction table axes. You can also turn traction control off/on and change between 2 slip tables (say wet/dry settings) using CAN digital inputs. Gear shift there would not be much you can change via CAN as none of the tables have configurable axes.
guirolca
Thank you ver much. We were able to realize the options we have in terms of configuration but one last doubt ocurred to us. We have a mechanical gear shifting depending on two electrovalves and a clutch for downshift actuation. Would it be possible through the ECU to send modulated signals to the actuators when the shift is required, or we would need to obtain this signal from other source (a microcontroller for example)? Adamw
There is no paddle shift functionality in the G4+ ecu. You can do something basic like use a GP output to activate a solenoid when the up shift request is true, but it will be difficult to cover all aspects that a proper paddle shift function would such as re-tries for mis-shifts, neutral and reverse lockout, half shifts for neutral, etc, as well as there are typically some specialised timing required such as preloading the actuator before the cut is activated etc.
