ellisd1984
I'm getting rid of the standard 540cc side feed injectors on my GT four and will be upgrading to a set of new bosch 1000cc top feed injectors. Since I've fitted an adjustable FPR, fuel pressure sensor and am going to have to redo my fuel map anyway will it be better switching to modelled fuel as I'll have all the injector data required? koracing
In my opinion: absolutely. Modelled fuel has many adavantages down the road if you were to ever change fuel injectors again, use a flex fuel sensor with E85, or for various other reasons. As you said the effort is already going to be there to retune, so head off future work by switching to Modelled now with FP sensor enabled. ellisd1984
That's what I was thinking. Since the engine has been rebuilt at some point and forged pistons fitted how accurate does the actual CC value have to be? I bought the car with the engine build so not sure if the bores were opened up and slightly oversized pistons were fitted.
koracing
I would go ahead and assume a .5mm overbore as that is the most common on the 3SGTE. OEM 86mm would be 1998cc and 86.5mm bore would be 2021cc. So like a 1% difference even if you didn't put in the different displacement. ellisd1984
I might have a dig through the my paperwork that came with the car to see if I can find anything on the pistons as I can remember seeing something for con rods . Thanks
