kool021
I have link ethanol sensor in my car but the reading is stuck in E68? And I know it’s wrong because I mixed fuel using ethanol tube which reading was E75 (quick fuel tube) should I try different sensor or gauge? Instead of ecu reading? also I have G4+ link ECU
Adamw
With ignition on, can you go to the runtimes screen (F12), Digital input tab and check what frequency is showing on the DI that your flex sensor is connected to.
kool021
Look even when the car is off and not running the sensor is stuck on E68
Adamw
Your DI4 is showing a frequency of 117.6Hz, to convert that to ethanol content you just subtract 50, so 117.6-50 = 67.6% Ethanol. If you dont think that is correct then possibly your sensor has failed. Are you sure the tank was empty when you put the E75 in? If you unplug the sensor does the reported frequency on DI4 go to zero?
kool021
Yap it goes to zero when we tunned it showed E75 and we empty the tank after second time when I filled it up I drain the tank again to make sure 100 percent reading? E75 Last 2 week after filling it up again it’s showing me e68
motomattx
I had a similar problem when I bought a Continental sensor from Ebay, from supposedly a reliable seller and I paid good money for it, it ended up being a Chinese knockoff sensor, I ordered a real one from Summit Racing and have never had a problem since. kool021
I got new sensor and still showing e68 should I install gauge just In case ecu reading it wrong
Adamw
The ECU is not reading it wrong. I explained the calculation above, the frequency the sensor is outputting matches the ECU displayed ethanol content. How do you know this fuel has 75% ethanol - did you mix it yourself? koracing
Two sensors both reading 68% ethanol - I'm guessing it's 68% ethanol. If you pump a tank empty, it never is really empty. If you have a drain plug to make it completely empty, then you can be sure that there is no lower ethanol fuel left behind. Also I believe according to the help menu the Link branded sensor does not need the pullup enabled, but other Continental sensors do. I assume since yours is reading correctly that you have this set properly.
